Warrington Wolves • what positions are our weakest?

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

To be fair I think some of that flair still exists. I was really impressed with Wigan last year with Field and French looking like they were playing touch rugby at times. I haven't seen as many Wigan games this year but the ones I have seen there has been a few times I have seen plays that I have been impressed with.

When a team is full of confidence that is when those plays happen. I will never forget Briers kicking cross field to Riley (I think it was Riley) in his own half in a challenge cup final. Читать дальше...

Huddersfield Giants • Swift - great signing

I like the look of this new fella wallace more. Has some real footwork, pace and ability, If you watch his highlight reel he makes Bibby look like hes stood in treacle for one try (not difficult i know). Cas are all talking him down but he looks an exciting player to me. If only we had someone with pace in the middle of the park now we would be a half decent side next year.

I agree re Tanginoa. I’m hoping, by the fact nobody has yet snapped him up that he’s staying.
He is exactly the type of player we need to do well in the championship.

I think he’ll stay. Unless he returns to Australia i’m struggling to see where he can go as virtually all teams have now filled their quota spots.

I think rugby league is obsessed with the athleticism, it’s not just Williams. The creativity is left out, as a rule, in the selection of juniors. Players can pass off both hands, can run, fend and step. Fine. But the genuine creativity is just phased out.

This I can agree with. But it all boils down to money, or lack of it. Marketing is expensive.

But being part of the community doesn't always guarantee everything else will be rosy. Take Castleford as an example - if you go to Cas, you'll see how widespread the support is, and how important it is the people of the town. Yet they are in financial trouble, leaking players, and have a ground that is falling apart around them.

I can't agree with that, though. Читать дальше...

Will someone tell me what actual marketing do the RFL do for these events?
Of course R/L fans will or should know about the Grand final on Saturday but given that i dont see any marketing of the event at all.
If you are not going to spend some money promoting the Grand final,C/C or magic weekend then you are never going to build on the current level of attendance.
The RFL is just jobs for the boys but what have the IMG media gurus done for the sport apart from a load of statistics and just... Читать дальше...

Diakhate announced as expected. Think the last signing will be a half, they will have to get that signing right as it’s crucial.

There are guidelines on what you can appeal, there has to be a reason for it. You can't just go back with 'we think it's harsh, he's a nice lad' etc. You've got to have a reason why it either doesn't qualify for the kind of charge that has been brought or why it can't be the grade it's been charged at.

I think it's a reasonable assumption that by now the Wire legal team know when they should/should not appeal.

This thread is the typical attitude of it’s always someone else’s fault. It’s up to the clubs to build relationships with the communities they sit it, to market, to encourage fans to attend, to make it entertaining. As much as I don’t really like the bloke what DB has done with Leigh is the blue print.

We need the clubs to grab the sport by the balls and send it on an upward trajectory. What we have instead is a load of self perpetuating flat cappers with a few quid holding the game back. Читать дальше...

I think we're on the cusp of a very worrying period for rugby league. The finances at most clubs are a massive concern, even the smug 'big' clubs are unsustainable as businesses in their current format and rely entirely on the input of a wealthy owner. I think we're about to start losing teams quite regularly from the lower leagues as the central funding drops and costs keep increasing. Salford worry me a lot as well, as do both of the clubs who could potentially come up. Читать дальше...

I’ve no issue with exchanging Bullock 31 for Partington 25.
Bullock has probably played less than half of the games we’ve played since he signed, and probably most of those off the bench doing few minutes.

That’s not enough for me, he can leave with my blessing.

Hull FC • Our Future

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

the big lads you've brought in are replacing the big lads that have left, you'll still have Fash, Cator and Lane in and around the 17. from what ive seen on social media most neutral fans think you'll struggle again next season despite what Adam Pearson was saying recently.
Hard time to have to do a big player rebuild for any team nevermind three teams if you include Cas and Leeds, the domestic player pool is so small there's really not much quality, so a lot of signings are gonna be gambles/hope and prays. Читать дальше...
