Wakefield Trinity • Points re set button.

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

We all know of img points system, however, who/where /when are the deciding factors ?
Does/are img control the system or do the RFL decide who replaces who ?
When would be the cut off date for what point all clubs are checked & ratified upon ?
Clubs & players need to know a certain date for promote or demote with all the implications etc
Would or could the RFL ignore a clubs greater points from promote, ie, SL have already ignored img twice.
Can a demote club & a promote... Читать дальше...

Wigan Warriors • Rumours and signings v9

Hopefully Smithies sees the NRL as a move he wants to make for 2-3 years while he's young before returning to Wigan. But he may also be another Ryan Sutton who sees his longer term future in Australia. I imagine we'll see another of those 'first option' clauses included anyway.

Outside of Thompson and Ellis, I wonder if there is actually to the Owen Farrell rumour. One more signing to come - it may well just be a back up player but who knows.

Depending on who gets promoted, and at a time when attendances at the two showpiece finals are not what they could be, will fans opt for following their team to France twice, or attending as a neutral at either final? My money is on the former, and it doesn't matter how much marketing they do, fans have a finite amount to spend on the sport.
I agree with an earlier post, in that once Toulouse were promoted the first time... Читать дальше...

Halifax Panthers • Re: IMG Does the club have a Plan?

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Slightly off topic, but for me season tickets don't fit with the flexibility people want these days. I haven't bought a season ticket in a few years, purely because I know there will be dates I cannot make. Am sure many feel the same.

New models need looking at. I'd quite happily pay 10 quid a month for a membership that brings half price tickets and a few fring benefits. Would probably work out better return for the club over 12 months, but realise there are cash flow issues with this and... Читать дальше...

Typical rubbish reporting from a useless reporter. Why do people take him seriously. If I ever see a report from LeedsLive on any site I delete without reading. I don’t know about anyone else but I hate this time of year as a large number of reports are the same as a few days earlier but a different headline. I now tend to only read from a genuine source such as a news paper or the BBC

Good point. I remember that game well. He was awesome and I expected that kind of performance in SL.

In retrospect it was only a friendly and the opposition included squad and academy players.

Seems a bit strange/worrying that we're coming to the end of the extended early bird season ticket offer with only AOB confirmed as a new signing. In previous seasons we've used signings as a way of driving season ticket sales - hope this doesn't mean that's it for new signings.

Managed to pick up my tickets when I noticed the second allocation had been released to the club this afternoon.

Tried since Saturday afternoon to get sorted and had nothing but bother on both the generic RFL site.

To say it’s not fit for purpose is an understatement.

Completely agree. Morley was a superb leader of men. Physically he was intimidating, the kind of guy that when he arrives at training, the rest of the squad try to impress.

Briers knows rugby inside and out and steered the team. When we were good, he was behind it. One thing is for certain, if he was playing a few weeks ago in the Saints play off game, we... Читать дальше...

Bradford Bulls • Toulouse (A) - Play Offs

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

DR is a a farce and doesn't benefit anyone IMO while we probably were hopes that night in Halifax, in the main DR has been a shambles for us and I hope we bin it.

But does make me laugh when we get hammered for it yet other clubs use it or have two week loans and that is perfectly fine.

Should be one month minimum and if clubs don't want to send a player out that long, play them in the reserves (which would then benefit that comp)

Reverse the Shay result where half the Bradford team weren't Bradford players and the bulls would have just sneaked into the play offs with Fax above them. All ifs and buts i know but it just shows what a disgrace dr and short term loans are and how they make a mockery of the lower leagues.

Only four loan/DR in the Bulls line up when we won at the Shay so not "half the team".

I do take and agree with your broader point about DR/loans and how they make a mockery of things. Читать дальше...

(Dodgy cameraman aside), a full Gilbert Brutus on Friday, combined with the greeting for the players as they entered the stadium really did look great on TV, they don't seem to take playoffs for granted in Perpignan like a lot of clubs in England do , as the attendances is often lower than a league game as it's not included as part of a season ticket

Great news. I watched the Dupree one a few times and still thought it might be trouble but he didn’t get charged at all.

No final should see teams players sitting out unless there really is no choice (like the Matautia one).

Thought they would’ve give Ellis Sione’s two games while their seasons over. Just because.

Actually, he doesn't even say that there is a stumbling block, he tries to explain that there might be a stumbling block. Leeds, at least in terms of fanbase, are the biggest club in SL, and as a journalist we are very much on Shaw's beat. I think he's anticipating that fans desire to know "now" and also making a story out of a non story. Certainly got us talking.

Wakefield Trinity • Re: 2024 Team Sheet ???

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

But again, the staying up thing is only partly about the players.
Winning games and coming to is important this year for some IMG points but mostly about getting the fans to but into the journey again.
After that it is very much about making sure we have the points while staying competitive on the field.

It would be great to do a Leigh in 2 tears time but if not it's important to build up slowly, increasing our income and league position each year. One place at a time if necessary.
