That’s a helluva long time for that type of contract.
I’d be amazed if there isn’t some sort break clause within the agreement.
I thought I’d read somewhere that Danson had “bought out” the contract? Not sure if legally he could or without paying a hefty premium to terminate the contract.

It just shoes how desperate they were for "cash"

Leeds Rhinos • Re: RD 19 | Hull KR (H)

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Disappointing, underwhelmed and mainly dumb, probably sums up my feelings about Fridays game.

We were completely out-enthused by a KR side with a load of players out and one eye on the semi's so hats off to them for slugging it out and coming away with the win.

This team is just so frustrating with the Jekyll & Hyde performances it puts in. It was back to letting teams go 60/70 meters again and some really poor reads in defence really let us down.

As is becoming the norm... Читать дальше...

London Broncos • Off Season Recruitment - By The Month

Agreed, he's been fantastic for us.

Would probably suit that back-up/interchange hooker at SL level quite well. Not sure how much SL interest there has been in him previously, but he's certainly coming off the back of two very strong seasons for us. He's 31 now so maybe that ship has sailed and he has other priorities.

The Virtual Terrace • Re: Super League signings for 2024

Iro and Satae are good signings. Walters and Chan for Wigan.

Saints don't announce their signings for as long as possible, so everyone knows them far in advance of them being announced, which sucks all the fun out of it.

Wigan Warriors • Warrington (h)

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Small update to my original post having had chance to rewatch the game. Bevan was very good and looking much more like a 6. Still lots of improvement in him, I suspect, but looking to have made bigger strides in the position than it appeared at the match. Quite assured in many aspects of the position. Great pass for the Marshall try, solid defensively, some nice kicks and got the balance right between running the ball and his kicking game. Good half back's support for his try too. Definitely growing into the role. Читать дальше...

To be fair, the winger stood up him up brilliantly - not everything is down to poor defence

Find this an odd signing to be linked with tbh. Whilst I don't think we are in a position to turn anyone down and he'd bring some good experience, hooker isn't exactly a position we currently have a depth issue with. Unless Dean is heading out the door, which would be a massive loss.

Liam Byrne’s first stint was borderline embarrassing from a Wigan prop. Not just his “attempt” to wrap the ball up on Philbin, but when he got pushed back over the line for a drop out, running sideways on your own line as a prop is shocking. However his second stint was more promising but wires forwards were tired at that point. Ellis was good on his return, just can’t seem to get him and Havard in the same team at once lately.

In the article it states Hull are in for Levi, but we believe we have signed Zac Woolford who is currently the starting 9 for Canberra. Its all rumours though - I would imagine a lot of clubs will be announcing signings in the next few weeks

Sounds like it was tight contest in some pretty grim conditions. A relief just to get the win and can now switch focus to Saturday.

this squad is capable of going up. the championship isn't great.
it all hinges on who leaves last minute. gnonto I'm not bothered about. I'd love to keep the rest. but we desperately need a 9.

We did what was needed, and in the end, after a scratchy first half, we won fairly comfortably, although that was as much to do with Cas being poor as it was with ourselves. Certainly, Castleford's self-belief seemed to evaporate fairly smartly after those two quick tries early after the restart, although their score to bring it back to within six was arguably the best of the game!

Overall, I quite enjoyed the afternoon's entertainment. Yes, we will need to play better in the remaining games... Читать дальше...

Monday night tv game - but at home. A few more training sessions, a few more players back, more time to work on combinations with Gaskell. Another tough game against a side that has found a bit of form (with performances) and is also one of the 4 teams left that can “do the double” on us, which hopefully we can avoid - the other ones being Batley, Fev & York. Bradford by 14.

I’m the least tech savvy person in the planet , but surely MC doesn’t physically have to be in the room to sign the paper work ,unless it for photographs and the old handshake whilst handing to reins over . You can sign your life away without actually stepping out of your living room with electronic signatures nowadays ,so I doubt a holiday will stop the proceedings unless of course he’s gone off grid

I hope you had a great day Charlie.
I was glued to Radio Manc via ‘t’internet.
I would say that I was on the edge of my seat all game but that would be a lie. I don’t think I sat down all game.
This is a huge win. Ipape, and then Smith both game day withdrawals due to illness overnight, and 3pm KO must have taken some calm and calculated player management from A Lam and co. The biggest thing for me though, is how this team has learned how to win whether in front or behind. It’s been a... Читать дальше...
