Hull FC • Shopping list for 2025

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

So the 2024 shopping list thread has now ran its course.

Let's get one started for the 2025 shopping list.

First of all we have players off contract at the end of this season.

Mint and Carlos are sure to be gone (the last of the cup kings)

We then have Mcintosh, Scott, Cator, Jack Brown, Nu Brown, Balmforth, Laidlow and Hoy (1 year option) off contract. Those are the question marks of should they stay or go?

Litten and Martin have shown me enough at a young age to be given a contract so far. Читать дальше...

Wigan Warriors • James Bentley

The Sky Sports commentators seem to think this guy is some kind of character.

It took Sam to put them right.

But what really fascinates me is the mixed messages they're sending out. Wilkin having a laugh about what a bad lad he is ... when all season so far Wilkin and his co-presenters have been so pious about the 'new era' of red cards.

Hull KR pooping the bed here! Good old Barry McDermott just used a new word on me, "tempetuous", guess a mix between impetuous and tempestuous! Ahh got to love the RL brain's trust.

Leeds Rhinos • Leeds Rhinos Battle Hard for Dragons Win

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Leeds Rhinos Battle Hard for Dragons Win
The Rhinos came into their third-round clash without the services of the injured Mikolaj Oledzki and the suspended James Donaldson and Sam Lisone as the Catalans Dragons were in Leeds looking for their third consecutive win at the start of the season.

A win by thirty-two points or more would lift the Dragons to the top of the table but a win for the Rhinos by twenty-three or more points would lift them above the visitors today and keep them... Читать дальше...

Don’t see how that’s a yellow card.

Wakefield Trinity • 1895 Cup

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Wakey was firmly in charge in the opening 30 minutes or so quickly going into a 12-0 lead, followed by about 10 minutes of poor play and errors. Still, the defence has been solid and Barrow hasn't looked like scoring, in fact, I can't remember them within 10 meters of our line. Then Griifin popped up for the try just before the halftime hooter to make it 18-0. Not the greatest game but the ball looks very slick in hand, so no wonder there's been handling errors in the weather. Hopefully, Powell... Читать дальше...

Steady boy, you don't want to upset Northernbloke before the game.

Fisher-Harris and Leota were massively disappointing for me. I was at Elland Road when they were immense against the Aussies and I thought they’d be the difference but both looked more concerned with pushing and shoving. On the other hand, Isiah Yeo was immense and always is. He is a fabulous rugby league player.

Looking at the state of VP pitch, don't think it could take rugby on it. Think the stock car track is more playable!

Huddersfield Giants • Vs Wigan

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

I'm sorry that after only 3 games we still seem to have the same issues from last year. We are so ordinary in attack. Russell is not a good enough half back for the Giants, Milner is too slow, and I'm not sure Jake Connor is quick enough at full back. I hope Clune is a good buy, he had a decent season at Newcastle last year. I'm not sure the spine is good enough. Lots of really solid players. I think it's obvious we are already missing Jerry's carries, and Chris Macqueen's line running and defence. Читать дальше...

If you can get six matches for accidental head contact by shoulder ...

how much do you get for deliberate head contact with a bottle?

Warrington Wolves • Ben Currie

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

It seems there is general agreement that he has been a revelation in the first 3 games. His running seems more direct at the line and appears to be putting his body on the line far more than in the last few seasons. His pass to Thewlis for the try was absolute class and worthy of an international centre.
May be down to his move to loose, but I suspect he has a coach who he is trying to impress in Burgess. whatever the reason if he keeps it up it will be like having a new signing

They did mate that’s why they had territorial advantage, their backs couldn’t deliver. Anyway, back to the point, Martin is a top player that’s why he is in the Australian team and a very successful side. To say otherwise is being dishonest.

Take away Yeo which other Penrith forward really stood out? I don’t think any did. Martin for me was pretty average along with the vast majority of the Penrith pack. I’m not being dishonest or disrespectful I was genuinely disappointed in the Penrith pack. Читать дальше...
