Leeds Rhinos • Smith out ASAP

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

I agree with him, the ruck is a mess.
Incorrect PTBs ( which were meant to be the new must be done thing), flops, holding down, moving off the mark, markers not square etc.

The only way that changes is fir every Ref to be as strict about it as they were head shots at the start of the season and more importantly, do it consistently in every game all season.

That would impact the game enjoyment as much as the over the top reds did ,at least until teams realised they won't get away with it

Whilst having a look at their fans build up to today’s match I read some interesting inbred observations.

1. Wire fans are already celebrating the title like we did last season….dont think so!
2. Dufty is the worst full-back in the league
3. Wardle is in the top 5 centres in the world….ive only watched one and a half games of NRL this morning and I’ve seen 7 better.
4. We’ve played no-one so far and had a full team out against London away….was it 7/8 first teamers missing? Читать дальше...

Trinity will be hosting all their home games this season. Do you think the same about clubs who share their ground with FA clubs? The rugby club has to play consecutive weeks away games at the behest of the FA clubs. Do IMG deduct points for this?.

Like York and Doncaster who’ve been good enough to dig you out the hole you’re in by agreeing to switch? You think they should be docked points when you can’t guarantee when you can hold the return fixture? Читать дальше...

What about Litten to full back, Hoy and Charles in the halves, Nu brown and Smith sharing the hooking role?

Haven't seen much of our youth/academy set up in a few years.

Are there any that we should genuinely be optimistic about?

Charles, Staveley and Balmforth are all in my future 17,.though I expect Blamforth will follow the many options he will have at the end of the season..

Not good for Wigan because they have to play the majority of their early games away because of the needs of the football club.

At the end of each football season the Wigan pitch is repaid and Warriors have to play all their games away from home for about 5 weeks. On the run in they play 10 of their last 13 at home.

Back at home before a weekend off.

I think the unavailable list now stands at Walker, Tindall, Carlos, Trueman, Houghton, Fash, Cator, Ashworth, Mitchi, Staveley and maybe a couple of the youngsters. So perhaps looking at something like

Hoy
McIntosh
Scott
Sutcliffe
Martin
Smith
Charles
Ese'ese
Brown
Pele
Okunbor
Sao
Lane

Brown
Gardiner
Balmforth
Jebson

A few only getting in due to lack of options. Goes without saying but we need a good start. Читать дальше...

Going back to wingers. I think there are plenty of good quality domestic options, even at the younger end. If you look at the top top clubs, theyre not using a quota on a winger, with the exception of Miski who would have been cheap at the time and Ikavalu who I think is playing more centre.

Like it or not RS will be here until seasons end at least.

Only way he leaves early is by walking out or getting us into serious relegation threat.

The job is half done with regards to the team.
End of this year if we get rid of Fusi and Donaldson + the money from Myler/ Olpherts ( maybe Martin if he can't be convinced to stay) and use it on a big prop and strike back rower and a steady winger we coukd be back into top 4 and a chance at silverware.

I agree with you, but just to note, prosecuting lawyers for the claimants, ie plaintiffs will be rubbing their hands knowing that deliberate head contacts by perpetrators cannot be mitigated reasonably by the RFL & its game administrators + so called discerplinary systems, what ever opinions we hold as supporters,
The proof is in the ongoing tactics/antics of some players !

How great was it last night, a top notch physical game with a great following.

After seasons of languishing around the bottom of SL I am in many ways glad we are now in a position to reinvent the club. It may not have been the ideal situation for ME to take over with relegation but with some astute appointments on and off the pitch the club looks like its going to go from strength to strength.

Support last night was top notch and will only increase by the looks of things. Читать дальше...

We will need to be on our game and very error free to win this one I believe.

Poor result against a team made up of players left over after we've signed the ones we want

Again, young team,11 first years, but would expect better.

Fair play to the Cas coach, he's clearly doing a great job and getting the best out of his players

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

It also does sound a bit of a virtue crusade when we start complaining about the rules and the reffing. If you are good enough you simply adapt to these things, not expect them to adapt to what you want. They are not going to change and it’s foolish basing your tactics on that. Sport has always been thus. My old football coach used to say ‘the referee is right, even when he’s wrong!’
