Good weekend for results this time and about time Ipswich lost out in injury time.
The win against Wednesday was a good one as they looked really organised in the first 30 minutes.
Once again we missed a couple one on ones but a very measured performance considering 4 games in 10 days.
On another note do any of you guys get a message saying http error 500 cannot reply?
Or is it just my laptop?
A few times I try to reply but get the above message for a day.

Lol, apologies there everyone, me and my big mouth.
Disappointed, but like others, we weren't going to win it, and just a distraction.
Makes you wonder too, if we cant progress all the way, with the cup, what the mindset was in the camp for this, or maybe the next round.
Any, lets forget it, and move on to tbe league and 1895 trophy.
It was about 7 seasons ago, plenty was chiming Ratchford to be our 13.
He filled in there a couple of times and looked good.
I spoke with Brian Carney after the game, he said Wire should make him the regular 13, I said ‘not for me,he had a good game, but he is about 14st wet through. Unless he gets around 15st, he’ll not make transition.’
Smugly I haven’t seen him since to get my Chufty badge.

On the plus side if we had to lose one this was the one. As mentioned game management was appalling as was team selection. Booth was a waste of a bench spot, was Cozza injured? We really could have done with that extra forward. As for the winning try, what the hell was Lino doing trying to throw that pass 30 meters out (on the 4th) in the face of an approaching defence? Too many poor performances from him in the last 2 years I've lost my patience with him I would go with Lawford next week.

At least their fans can stop worrying about what would happen if they reached both finals

I only saw him play once - in the 1961 final at Odsal . My grandmother bought me a ticket as a 12th birthday present. Not only a superb player but a great captain .
When I was coached by his fellow Welsh legend Trevor Foster, he was adamant that Lewis was the best back of that era.
Later in life I was a guest at the wedding of Derek Hallas’ daughter and he introduced me to Lewis . Derek was a teammate of Lewis at Leeds - Derek scored two tries in that final- and they remained close friends. Читать дальше...

Lam needs to get a grip. It’s been raining solidly for two month. All pitches are heavy, the bloke simply can’t take a loss without some feeble moan

No. The only quibble is that where it’s a bit of a mismatch ensuring the far better side stays onside most of the time is really important and I think there were times when he could have pinged them. But it’s swings and roundabouts.

That's the sort of result that I was talking about earlier,
It ain't going to be a cake walk games will need better management
Gail and lino didn't work, I'm not sure it's the best combination we habe

I don't know but I'd expect the Mens final will be at 14:30 with the Women´´s as a curtain raiser and the 1895 to bring the day to a close.

It's been mentioned on here (and maybe reported) that Rhyse has sorted himself a deal back home. If that's the case he'd leave as the best and most consistent import of the Agar/Smith era. If he stays in the UK I'd be happy with a two year deal. Great kicker, best and by far the most creative second row we have, and a very useful backup centre. He'd be an attractive propersition to any domestic club.

To rub salt in it, Holroyd’s daft soft penalty was about 3 tackles in around the halfway line.
Wire went from in the commentary as dominating the half to suddenly being second best. Memories like a goldfish!
We were far better than the score gave us at half time.

Leigh fans, a Salford fan here.
Just had a couple of questions, how is Lam? Is it just a deep cut or this there an underlying injury, he looked in a very bad way when he came off against Leeds, hope he recovers quick he is great to watch.
The next 3 games are massive after Leighs start to the season, even with injuries against Hull, Leigh must start as big favourites, Salford and Wigan present stiffer tests. Got to say the Easter fixture at Salford will be a big crowd and awesome game. Читать дальше...

I agree but only up to a certain point. Our attack from deep or from open play is great; but on its own it hasn't seen us top four tries in any game yet. Against any sort of committed side that puts us in shoot out territory. And while we've won 3 from every game's been a battle. We'll be a genuine top drawer side when those world class scores are the ones killing games off, not merely gaining us a slight edge in arm wrestles.
That said, I definitely don't want... Читать дальше...
I think ME would have continued with the take over regardless of relegation or not but it would have been impossible to improve the squad enough to have anything other than another season of struggles and woe. This reset season in the Championship is by far a better option imho.
