Warrington Wolves • TV games (not Wire)

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Leeds Coach, Rohan Smith, has shunted out so many players. He is not a happy bunny. Croft & Ackers have looked very average.

Wakefield Trinity • Salford placed in special measures

Depends if it’s counted on the balance sheet as loans. There’s creative ways of turning a positive. If it’s not subject to repayment then it’s not a loan and if it’s not required to be repaid then it will likely just appear as an injection of funds. If there is no outgoing or agreement to repay any amount then I can’t see how it would negatively impact.

A great point.

I think the RFL's motivation is to be seen to be doing something to protect player welfare if/when the lawyers come knocking again.we have taken reasonable measures and have a process in place. Not saying this is perfect but good to see them making a start.

I wonder if we will... Читать дальше...

Leigh v Leeds ... there are enough nutters on the pitch & on the sides for anything to happen.

Typical Australian arrogance I’m afraid!

They wilfully ignore the mountainous obstacles that Rugby League in England faces, in particular the FA Premier League, Championship, League One & League Two. Not to mention the rest of the Football pyramid. No one can compete with Football in this country, not even the Spanish La Liga, Italian Serie A or any other sporting organisation in the world and I include the NFL in that. Let’s not even mention other UK sports... Читать дальше...

The IMG rankings are working. Funny that it takes a points scoring exercise to get Hughes to wise up.

Warrington Wolves • Tonight’s game v HKR

Holroyd did a good stint in tackling, but it was he who gave an away a soft penalty that swung the 1st half momentum to KR when we were 10 zero up.
He technically had us 10-12 down at the break. So for all his good stuff, his daft penalty undermined the 1st half.

Yes rubber ... but he's not bad is he? Gets stuck in like hell for a young 'un.

Hicks has suggested it may be the same for RL. Apparently, 80% of childhood concussions are caused by playing contact sport.
He also says there's a lot of discussion going on around whether they'll change how kids are categorised. Instead of age, they will potentially be categorised by size/weight.

Leigh Leopards • Re: 21 Man Squads - Leopards v Rhinos

May look a strong squad but I didn't think either Leeds or Catalans played particularly well in their recent match. I'm going for Leigh 20 Leeds 12.

Definitely give Hanley his chance. About time he was given a game.

Money doesnt buy happiness folks, it does if you spend it wisely though!

They will move Evalds back to full back which is his best position and Hiku into the centre for Opacic

This is a really interesting article about how RU is trying to increase safety in junior RU, and how they fear kids are moving away from rugby because of injury concerns.

Leeds Rhinos • Other teams on TV

I`ve noticed one or two Boards have a similar topic and find it interesting to hear the views of other teams.
Is it worth us having a similar thread?
I will kick it off from last nights KR/Wire game.
Thought KR were the better team after they woke up already 10 down.
Ryan Hall still looking good and for me Mikey Lewis pretty much the standout halfback in SL so far.
Great talent and only 24 years old.
Wire to their credit kept going and Dufty their best player.
I reckon they will... Читать дальше...

Looking at that article I think the normal injury/rests will cover most of that, particularly with the concussion protocols now in place. Forwards have less games but are generally out injured more. Young players have less games but are generally used sparingly anyway. Seems a quite sensible implementation to be fair. Not something we can often say where the RFL is involved

If we are successful in all competitions then we could play up to 34 games so for... Читать дальше...
