Hull FC • Smith - should he stay or should he go?

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Adam isn’t a wealthy man
He runs a business year to year and
has been affected by 2 bad years of covid
Like a farmer with drought

His hands are tied and he’s doing a good job keeping the club afloat

He’s not a great man manager as not one coach has performed well with Adam as their manager

Imagine if Hull FC were a big company on the stock market !!
Would Adam still be the Chairman ?

100% he’d have gone within 2 years as he can’t manage his staff
But... Читать дальше...

Hull FC • Re: State of the Nation

A thoroughly depressing listen and just reaffirms what most are thinking in that it’s a professional club run on an amateur basis. Neither James nor Dan believe it’s anywhere near cap and that if it is things are seriously wrong.

Pretty much everything that’s been said on here was echoed by them so if we as fans can see it and the sports journalists can see then why the hell can’t the owner of the club or the head coach see it.

For the work he gets through, I think Butterworth would be the biggest loss of the three. Although I guess with the challenges we are having physically, being the smallest of the three loanees is his downside.

Thought he played well in both games. Not really sure though how much we can expect from players on two week loans. Feels a bit desperate we are in that position so early in the year. Appreciate it’s really difficult to know whether to stick or twist... Читать дальше...

Warrington Wolves • Re: Today’s match v London

My view of King is that he looked fairly ordinary on sunday. Yes he takes the ball up a lot but i haven't seen much creativity from him. ie line breaks, offloads to his winger, running decent lines. If we want him just as a battering ram we may as well move him into the second row.

With no chance of us been relegated this season Its probably why we have skimped on spending any real cash on players .
AP has seen it as an opportunity to recoup some cash from the previous seasons losses .

Feels like ourselves, Cas (focusing on off field matters like getting LED boards) and London (guaranteed relegation) have all taken this approach and there's only really 9 competitive teams in SL this year

To reflect…

Looks like leaving Sam B to coach and letting Chambers to canopy player welfare and an academy transition was a smart move.

And one id been floating about on here before Powell was sacked.
I’m glad someone at the club was likeminded.

No more throwing the young lads under the bus.

I’m wondering whether the amount of younger players getting their chance this year is is purely down to Burgess and his philosophies... Читать дальше...

Three of the six starting forwards were short term loans. Announced as initial, but taken at face value, Jones and Butterworth's expire mid week and Rogers the week after. Even if we extend are their Challenge Cup Tie rules and if so would the loaning clubs let them play against Warrington next week?

And if we extend next league match is Huddersfield. Presumably Rogers couldn't play.

Week after Hull KR. Presumably Butterworth couldn't play.

So what exactly is the strategy? Читать дальше...

i've watched the full match back this morning on Warriors tv and the focussed quite a bit post match on this and Sneyd's reaction

The play was for Watkins (i think was the inside player) to catch / pat back and the winger (hang back) to then take the ball or worst case be in a defensive position to stop Wigan from scoring. As he jumped and challenged for the ball, he was out of position and thus a walk in for Wardle

I think Lolohea might be best at FB but I'd play him in the halves with Clune. Try Deakin? at 9, see what he can offer.

Okunbor is rubbish. I've followed his career from the start. First he was a not-very-good winger, then converted into a not-very-good back-rower. Never looked NRL class, and wouldn't improve many SL teams.

Likewise, it was sad seeing Hull fans trying to get excited about his signing.

Warrington Wolves • Today’s match v London

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Wrench is making the odd mistake, but it's his first extended run in the first team in his preferred position, even if Ratchford / Tai would come in and do a slightly better job, we just need to stick with him and allow him to develop, we'll probably lose some games due to no Ratchford goal kicking, but it's a necessary evil I think. Hayes too, even if he was playing at a slightly lower level than Drinkwater atm - which he isn't, he looks much better IMO - he should be kept in there for the long term this year... As bad as your situation is, we've sold 7k tickets via the portal. That's gotta be a high % of fans who can and are using the system.

Likewise, I've seen people complaining on the other site and on social about STH being able to buy up to 4 tickets. Whilst they could do that, it wasn't as simple as every STH going in and getting four to dish out to their mates. Читать дальше...

Huddersfield Giants • Dreadful - Watson's future?

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

I agree with some of the comments. Russell clearly not good enough, saw Levi score for Canberra at the weekend, what a loss that has proved to be. Milner is a slow journeyman with a pretty slow pass. We needed speed in the spine but haven't recruited that, maybe the new young hooker should be given a go. Same old reaction from Watson. We still appear a slow side, miles behind the top teams.
