We don't have a fit full back though, I'm sure the club are trying to get someone in on loan to cover the position.

It would be nice to have Shaul back while Jowitt is out.

As long as we don’t just give him away for free, contracts should work both ways.

In fact it was a HOME game which they won 30-16.

Bradford Bulls • Sheffield (H)

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Good performance and an entertaining game. We got off to a great start - I think Sheffield were still on the bus. Then we had a real arm wrestle. Again out discipline was good and we capitalised on Sheffield's mistakes and penalties.

Thought Holmes was great again. That move where he runs a drop off from Patton got us two tries. Arundel had a decent game and in the forwards it was really tough. Scurr was very good and picked up from last week.

Of the Leeds lads I thought Tindall was the best. Читать дальше...

The Virtual Terrace • Salford chairman calls for NFL style draft in super league

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

I've thought for a while that academy teams should be disassociated from being directly run by clubs.

Obviously there is an issue in Rugby League that a lot of clubs are clustered in relatively small geographic areas, and it's not feasible for every club in an area to run a top class academy team, both financially and from a player pool perspective.

My proposal is that the RFL should set up academy teams covering areas that have enough of a player pool to justify its existence, as well as development Academies in other areas. Читать дальше...

Currently, Ashton is better than either of them, whereas I'm not sure Thewlis is best suited on the wing. I'd expect us to recruit another winger, should we be unable to bring one through from our academy, once Dufty's time is finished with us.

I think we’re trying to fit Thewlis in because he’s an outstanding full back who needs first team exposure, even if it means playing out of place. Saints did it with Welsby over a couple of seasons and it paid off. Читать дальше...

Possibly. How did we get Magoulias? Had he played any first team games for Cronulla?

EDIT: Shame Mags didn’t get his chance this season instead of last. His ball-playing skills and kicking could have been a sensation this season.

Leeds Rhinos • 2023 l Academy, Scholarship & Reserves News

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Two good wins to start the Reserves season 48 - 0 vs Bradford and 46 - 10 vs Cas, played some good rugby and scored some cracking trys. Plenty of the players still eligible for the Academy aswel. Always interested to see how the younger players are developing physically at the start of a season and we certainly look a big athletic team right across the park with 7 or 8 players somewhere between 6 ft 2 and 6 ft 6.

The Academy season starts this week after a cancellation to the opening round fixture. Читать дальше...

He has been poor so far this season but do not let Shabino change history as Martin was one of our best players last season

Yeah a possibility but he'd have to take a BIG pay cut as he's not worth a Marquee wage so i doubt it, but you never know.

Warrington Wolves • Re: How good was Charnley?

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Always thought he was overrated, he's a good winger and has scored some superb tries. BUT the vast majority of his tries are from the work of the guys outside him that most wingers could have scored, including Minikin and that's not an over exaggeration. Was happy when we signed him but wasn't bothered when he left.

Brilliant win. Yes had a bit of luck with the no pen but in real time it looked like Firpo got the ball. Their second goal was a huge deflection so that was their luck.

Harrison was good and scored again. Took it beautifully. Gracia is getting him back playing something like. Gnonto was great at times too, terrorising their right back. Summerville put a huge shift in when he came on.

Leeds will be the death of me.
