Wigan Warriors • Big three weeks

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

So some big games coming up - a derby against a dangerous Leigh led by our former coach, a likely sell out home game against the champions and our biggest rivals followed by the league leaders. Exciting but not really the time for our attack to be as poor as it is at the moment. Wonder whether Peet will be brave and make the big switch to the spine. Cust's lack of form and Bevan's impact on Friday will surely make it more tempting for him.

Any predictions for how we'll go in these three? If... Читать дальше...

It's not technically a penalty, they are just sent back to play it from where it should have been from. We got sent back twice against Huddersfield, so it is another thing they hammer us for that they don't apply to other sides.

Hull FC • On to Leigh

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Watching the highlights it is evident that Hull struggled to contain the expansive play from Leigh.
Hull players looked unfit and undercooked.
The FB Tex Hoy can’t defend, his attempts at tacking are non existent, this has become apparent whenever I have watched highlights of Hull or watched them on TV, very lacklustre and a liability.
Number 30 Taylor looked overweight and unfit, and had little impact.
Hulls tactics seemed to just try to barge over the whitewash, no organisation or game plan. Читать дальше...

London Broncos • Re: Swinton

Forget the errors and the fact it was only Swinton. That was a great match. The opposition were no mugs.Attendance wise I’d guess about 750.The weather was vile and the clocks had gone forward so could have been worse.
Definitely a wise decision to swop stands.Even with a smaller crowd the atmosphere is much better.Plough Lane is a belter of a ground.Wimbledon should be very proud.
With the way the league’s going this season, winning two on the trot has been vital.

Not bad of course said, it's hard to find fault. I wholeheartedly support this and have nothing much to add. I know of course some more information. Hull FC • On to Warrington

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Oh dear where to start. We are struggling massive at the moment. I think we all know this year is now gonna be a struggle more so than I thought. But we go again. So what's changes for Wires? Litten FB Hoy in the halves. Barron on the wing. It's the pack what is a worry to. Do we bring Evans back? Gardiner a bench spot? For me fash isn't a LF. Think Cator brings more there. Or just throw them all in a hat and pick them out.

Wigan Warriors • Forwards Watch 2023

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

It may well be tactical but if the backs do not make metres (esp on heavy pitches etc) then we are stuffed as we do seem to have the option to change things up. We were reliant on French to score two individual tries against Salford to get back into the game, but the last ten minutes or so we seemed to up the work rate noticably and get a bit of a roll on and then scored the King try which was by far the best bit of team play the whole game. Wheras for all the pressure at the start of the second... Читать дальше...

OK, let's calm down, couple of reasons

1, it's only a couple of games so far

B, let's see what happens when we lose a game, the usual pant wetters will be out and having a pop

£, this pack hasn't got Simon grix in it.

The morning after. We can't get rid of the coach. We have done that. Players need to be shipped out. Smith has said all along won't be a quick fix. I am sure he has irons in the fire for next year. His hands are tied for this year. As a happy clapper I really think this could be a long season. Yesterday was really poor. Need to shake the team up for next week in personal changes but we haven't the luxury of wholesale changes. It's the hope that kills you lol.

Huddersfield Giants • Re: Leeds v Catalan

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Well Ian Watson seems happy with the style and seems convinced it's only a matter of time before it starts to pay off, More to the point is K Davy happy with things, He can see like the rest of us what is happening on the field with other teams, he can compare it to our plodding style of 5 tackles and kick. the amount of money and backing he has plowed in to the club he deserves better than what he is getting .
We do lack pace ( and skill) in certain vital positions but this is the squad... Читать дальше...

Completely this.

He's been a great signing IMO, pretty sure he carried on playing whilst injured last season but like you say was a real lift for the squad and fans when he came in. Looks a real player so far this season so would be a big miss IMO. We still have Vaughan, kasiano, dudson... Читать дальше...

Haven't you read this thread? We're already getting a good return out if him. Without him breaking any pots he's posting 100+ metres every game, been solid in defence and scored the winning try on Friday. It's 6 games in and playing in a team not yet firing. What exactly were you expecting?

A full meeting is needed at the club with MC and JC telling the players what is expected. I believe MC held such a meeting before and told the players his door was open to players who didn't want to remain at the club.
The time has come for such action . It's true there are enough games left to avoid relegation but I see not even a glimmer of hope for a win yet.

I don’t know if it’s budget available or not but since Chester has come to Leigh our signings have been the best we have ever seen, obviously Lam is a pull as the Australia assistant coach but our imports have been superb, rather than names (Blake Ferguson was unreal) we have gone for young energetic fringe players, Asiata is one of the best players I have ever seen in a Leigh shirt. Our next problem is we are going to have to offer big salaries to tempt anyone decent to join. Players and Agents can see the club is struggling with questions over the atmosphere at the club. For some they'd take a slightly lower offer to say sit in the sun at Catalans, or be at a team with a chance... Читать дальше...

Disagree with this one. French recoil is a little OTT, but Sneyd didn't need to raise the elbow.

I've watched Sneyd a few times now this year and the guys a grade A tool. Complains at every decision, niggles in that tackle & the salute after he's taken 5 mins to line up a kick is laughable.
