Wakefield Trinity • Current position

Re: Chester out part 65 : Sat May 15, 2021 6:02 pm
One thing is for sure whoever is in charge next year they have to be recruiting now or if left will be asked to have players they haven't been party to recruiting.

so either back C.C
or make a decision.

Or be left with players no other club want.
POSTED 15-05-2021

In response to the current position the club find itself in just wished to post these observations.
Firstly, to make it clear that the board under Michael... Читать дальше...

Dudson - suspended - almost universal condemnation of his antics on our boards
Philbin - suspended - 2 games (dropped hip tackle on Da Costa)
Harrison - knee issues - not back for a few weeks yet
Bullock - broken thumb - might be back for Saints, not certain
Mikaele - gone back to Oz
Holroyd (promoted from the Academy) - dislocated shoulder - out for a couple more weeks.
Clark - knee injury - out for another month or so.

And I thought we'd recruited one too many props. Читать дальше...

Somebody just put Knowles disciplinary record up on Twitter. He has apparently been charged 44 times since 2018. Now all weren’t bans and some would’ve just been a caution but that Is incredible if true. Maybe there wasn’t any malicious intent in this (I’m sure there wasn’t to be fair) but he’s clearly got some real issues with his tackling techniques.

He's been looked at 44 times since '18, the killer though as a Saints fan pointed out is 9 charges and counting since the start of the '22 season... Читать дальше...

90% of wigans trophies were when they were full time professionals playing against drunks, miners working 80 hours a week and chimney sweepers. Even the manly team that Wigan beat in 87 all had full time jobs outside of rugby league yet Wigan fans never shut up about that. That is why it is indisputable that St Helens are the greatest english rugby league team of all time.

London Broncos • Re: Featherstone Rovers and Dewsbury thoughts

My thoughts are that I expect a reasonable but ultimately fruitless effort against Fev and, whilst we are in no position to expect to win any game currently, if we turn our noses up on a win against Dewsbury after I have travelled for an hour and 3/4 to get there we should be taken out and shot.

Also thought Donaldson went well running the ball in and making some decent tackles.

Something like that:
Baldwinson
Lily
Thompson
Walters (Current)
Donaldson (Current)

Agreed, he ran really hard and tackled well.

Which is why have an extra game is wrong in a league where relegation / play-off places are based on final league placings. Some clubs benefit from the extra fixture and others lose out. Not that I think it will happen because I think London have enough to get a relevant buffer above relegation, but if London where to get relegated by a point to Barrow because Barrow got an extra win against Whitehaven in the bash while London were to lose against TO would just be plain wrong. I went into this one knowing that it was a ´feelgood´film, but a feelgood film starring Woody Harrelson. I have loved Woody Harrelson through a whole host of hit and miss movies, Three Billboards, Triangle of Sadness (see earlier), Hunger games series, True Detective, No Country For Old Men, etc. But this was always going to be a gamble for the ace actor. A feelgood movie where he needed to avoid being too sickly, and unfortunately he didn´t pull it off.

On the newcastle team sheets and highlights he looks to be playing in the second row, on the hull website he's listed as a prop but then in the biography it says second row or loose forward, so christ knows

Warrington Wolves • Wigan Week

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Got to say, if there is one side I really really dislike it's Wigan - even more than Saints.

And particularly ever since the Maguire era with his 'injure them' mentality. (My take on his playing style).

Both sides are down on numbers and it will be an interesting one.

Hope the stadium is rocking.

Wakefield Trinity • Positives

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

For the last several years we have had to mostly suffer 22/23 weeks of pain not knowing if we were going to get relegated or not, often going to the last game or simply having to rely on other clubs imploding to keep us safe. It has not been an enjoyable experience, obviously there was relief but not pleasure. Then there was the hope of the close season, hope that we would sign significant players, hope that maybe another SL club would look to have messed up. Hope is a bugger and expectations for whatever reasons were never met... Читать дальше...

With Smithies out do we move Shorrocks to 13 and bring Astley in or do we say Smith and Shorrocks are our halves until Cust/Field are fit to play ?
Got options but personally I think we're probably better off letting Smith/Shorrocks work together as often as possible until Cust/Field are back

Cracking game, score line flattered Fax a little I thought. Defence and enthusiasm were excellent. Middles were dominant for large parts of the game and I include Appo, Baldwinson, Scurr as well as Bibby, Donaldson and Walters in that. Keyes had an uncomfortable game which, along with Holmes’ positioning negated a lot of his tactical kicking. Well done boys. The other interesting thing is we’ve won 5/8. Only 2 of those are against teams in the bottom half of the table. We’ve now played everyone in the top half
