Leigh Leopards • Big Weekend For Us

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

We beat Leeds and then those below us could all potentially lose.
Time to look forward now not over our shoulder.
Aim for top 6 now.

Scrappy game but Cas showing plenty of resilience.
Something we havent been able to muster for a while.
Think its a straight shootout between us and Wakey for the sh!ttest team in SL this year.
Fair play to Eden. Excellent under the high ball this evening.

Cas v HKR
Far faster ptb's than in our games with Wigan and Saints and the ref has given 3 6-agains for slow ptb's in 13mins already.

Ifs and buts.

But if we had had that ref who knows....

Is what I said, ridiculous that different refs have their own interpretation of it, or like I said does it all change when refereeing the 3 teams I said earlier. I will watch how Griffiths refs any of those.

Not to mention Westerman.

I was honestly thinking the same. We’ve been here before and come back. We are fundamentally in a better position than in the past, even though we are poop on the field, we are much stronger off it.

Fair does Phantom.Your ground might be superior as you say but it holds little weight in the big scheme of things (IMG). Facilities is only one small factor. Attendances and league position will let you down. A chairman who is critical of the grading system won’t help you either.

If the protocols are followed the same as before then no one will bother

I'd play Scott on the wing, how many chances cam Mcintosh get?

6 is a real area of weakness, McNamara is a better defender and Lovodua offers more in attack, neither are really good enough to play there.

Need to play really well to win, better than we have played all season

think he will play Houghton at 6

Talk about 'bottling' is a bit childish and doesn't help much. There were serious red flags about our composure though yesterday. Marshall talked about patience and building pressure at 16-6, which is fine, but as soon as we conceded that daft try after half time we went to Hail Mary passes and trying to score off every play - even with half an hour left. That made us very easy to pick off.

Totally agree about that last bit. Was a bit surprised when we began chasing the game so early. Читать дальше...

I had a quick listen to part of the new podcast today and it is very good. Podcasting has become huge over the last decade. I wouldn't know what the best strategy is to advertise and grow subscriber numbers - is it best to spread it across multiple... Читать дальше...

Totally agree about the hooking role, Randall was never replaced adequately, him and Wood complimented each other very well and made a very good pair and none of the people we have had at hooker since they left are anywhere near as good although I would like to see more of Bowes because he does have potential.

Wakefield Trinity • Law Modifications to be Trialled in Academy Games

I can’t get my head round the kick offs being taken on the opposition 40 line

Two law modifications will be trialled in the RFL Academy competition this summer, as part of the three-year research project across Rugby League led by Leeds Beckett University...
The following law modifications will be trialled over four rounds of the Academy season in June and July.

The legal tackle height will be reduced to below the armpit at initial contact

Halifax Panthers • New rules to be trialed

An arrival talking about tackling below the arm pit and kick offs will be from the opponents 40 meter line. The high tackle I understand. They want kick offs to be from the opponents 40 meter line to reduce the speed of contact when a player catches the ball and the defenders tackling then. What a stupid idea. RL is a contact sport. We might as well just have tag rugby. I can’t put the link on here for some reason. They are going to trial it in the academy teams this summer. It’s on examinerlive.co.uk

Wakefield Trinity • Re: ANGRY

Lino isn’t a natural organiser that is true. But his problem is he has has no creative help from elsewhere. Neither Smith or Gaskell alongside him are up to the task, we don’t have a ball handling loose forward, we have the worst hookers in the league for getting him fast accurate ball and our forwards regularly lose the collision and make the least meters in the league by far for him to play behind. Dagger has come in and quite honestly has shown no more creativity than Kay did at fullback. The guy hasn’t had a chance... Читать дальше...
