Drop Goal Winner For Barrow In Cumbrian Derby
The Cumbrian derby, tenth placed Whitehaven against a relegation threatened Barrow Raiders who were languishing in thirteenth spot in the table but who had their eyes on eleventh spot should they wrestle a crucial two points from their neighbours in this round twenty-two match.

It had been honours shared so far this season with Whitehaven winning the game in Barrow in April by 16-14 while Barrow took the points at the summer bash by 32-16. Читать дальше...

Possibly our biggest match of the season so far. We really need the two points here and it will be interesting to see what team we put out. As usual we will have a strong looking squad but who knows what they will produce? This season has really been strange but this match is the one to set us on the way for what could be a fantastic end of season. If Keighran plays centre, I’m expecting another Wardle. You look at his stats and some weeks he might only run 50/60 metres Wardle but he’s a class act and comes up with some moments of absolute class. The way things are shaping up at 6, I’m half hoping Keighran might go in there but we’d still need a centre then.

It would be nice to end the season not losing a match in Yorkshire and then not losing a match to a team from there.

That is eminently possible

It is interesting to note the lack of points scored but that seems to have come as the sacrifice to winning the close games, games that we'd have previously lost.

The final 5 games feature only one team that has beaten us so far this season (which is a bit mad thinking back to the start of the season and also who those 5 games are against). Читать дальше...

ratchford unfortunately for the majority of his time with us has caused coaches headaches of where to play him as he was not good enough in specialist rolls but too good to leave out of the side, whilst he is a very good rugby player I do feel he has caused us more headaches than solved problems over his time with us.
