400? 300? Last time...

Pough lane? It makes no difference if we stun Fev and gain promotion, whilst Hughes owns the club crowds will never grow and the last 2 attendances will have dragged the average down lower than Ealing......HIS 5000 target has been missed but there is no accountability as usual.
What makes it worse is NOBODY is surprised it's come to this... Читать дальше...

Not a great week for TV games, two one sided scores and Catalans pitch looked like a ploughed field. Cant be helped of course it happens sometimes.

Fantastic News. I wonder if London will be invited (with Cardiff) to join the top table next year?

The women's game will be restructured for 2024. Tier 1 will be 8 teams with Huddersfield Giants, Leeds Rhinos, St Helens, Warrington Wolves, Wigan Warriors and York Valkyrie (i.e Women’s Super League Group 1) already given spots. They will be joined by 2 teams from Women’s Super League Group 1 (one as champions and one through playoffs).

Tier 2 will have 32 teams spread over four leagues (North... Читать дальше...

Brilliant performance.
The pack was superb, over ran their forwards and out played them.
Byrne was outstanding, French showed what he can do at 6 behind a winning pack. KPP, Smithies and Nsemba put in some big hits but the pick of the big hit tackles was Liam Byrne's at the end of the game on Navarette. Absolutely smashed him.

Great win with a great performance, the hard bit will be backing it up!
Can they do it? Too right they can!

Leeds Rhinos • Re: Why have Leeds gotten worse this season?

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

To be fair to Smith, he moved on some players like Sutcliffe who needed to go.

Several key senior players are out of form or missing.

We are basically limping into the end of this season busted up and down on quality. We need another 3 really good signings plus a very strong off-season for the squad; we could really do with one or two academy prospects putting some pressure on for first grade spots in 2024 too.

Whether RS is a good enough coach or not - we get to find out in the first 5-10 games next season... Читать дальше...

Warrington getting Tom Burgess could potentially open up the opportunity to keep King, if they are using that marquee allowance on him.

There’s no doubt about Walkers ability it’s just his injury record has unfortunately been an issue hence why Leeds did t renew his contract. He did well for us but then again injury struck which ended any possible deal.

Think his main injury was the foot injury at Leeds which needed surgery and was potentialy career threatening. Not sure of his injuries since then but i think most of his more serious injuries have been hamstring which you tend to find players with pace suffer from at times. Читать дальше...

The way Catalan played I think they made a mushroom tea out of the stuff growing through the grass and a few of them drank too much of it

Leeds Rhinos • Why have Leeds gotten worse this season?

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

If you you calculated Smith’s results last season pro-rata over the whole season we’d have finished top 4.

This season we will finish bottom half.

Why?

Our fan base is nothing to shout about and I don't see how delivering garbage to paying customers will increase the numbers. It's also nice to have good facilities and a single stand improves things but other parts of the ground are dire. Again people are not going to pay money in good facilities to watch a losing team. We are a rugby League club and what happens on the pitch is what makes people support their club.

Thanks for everything Garry we have had some wonderful seasons with you in charge and I am eternally grateful for all the great achievements you were involved in.
However as with all the great players you have had to retire it is now your time to do the right thing and hand over to someone younger with the drive and passion of a younger person.
Time to do the right thing Garry what do you other posters think?

I don’t think we will make the play offs. We are now 8th. It will only happen if we win everything and those above us slip up.

I’d be really interested to know what the Leeds Board consider is to lowest acceptable outcome in terms of League Position and CC progress before there are changes to the football operation?

We won’t ever be told, but if it’s not SF of the cup and top 4, then the board needs removing never mind anything else.

Hull FC • Re: Shopping list for 2024

Apparently the issue in Aus is that all the clubs have tied up their talent to long term deals so there is very little movement there, particularly in the halves positions.
Doubt the likes of Connor Watson will need to come to Europe, think we are fishing in an ever depleting & over expensive pond - for me a Flanagan/Milford unloved type player is our best chance - but again they have to pass the TS 'culture' & attitude test, we cant risk another Josh Reynolds.
Domestically McMeeken & Jez Litten would be great for us... Читать дальше...

Wigan Warriors • Catalans (a)

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

It all starts from our defensive intent for me. The intent and aggression in which we defended with yesterday was outstanding and we can then play off that. You look statistically and Byrne was no better than most games this season but clearly he was way way better. A prime example of stats not telling the full picture because there is no stat for the force you hit with, the way you lead the line speed or how hard you hit the ball up. He constantly challenged Catalans forwards on both sides of the ball. Читать дальше...
