Wigan Warriors • Where will we finish?

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

So where does everyone think we will end up in three weeks? 1st, 2nd or 3rd? Will any of the top 3 drop points in the remaining fixtures?

Wigan: Leeds (a), Cas (h), Leigh (a)
St Helens: Leigh (h), Warrington (a), Hull (h)
Catalans: Wakefield (a), Leeds (h), Salford (a)

We have 44 points on Catalans and 59 points on St Helens. (Could we maybe have shown a bit more urgency in the 2nd half against Salford to rack up a couple more tries?)

You would hope that if we can get by... Читать дальше...

Probably was spotted, but Griffiths just allowed it to go on as he did on several occasions.

Just like against Cas, about three-quarters through the first half their right-hand side looked absolutely shattered, but a Saints try seemed to revitalise them. They never looked back.

Sad to say but i think Adam Pearson needs to try and find a new owner with a bit more financial muscle so we have a clean sweep at the top which in my opinion has gone stale.
Hoping that Tony Smith can turn around a sinkling ship with the cash restraints he seems to be under,or that we find a couple of gems from the reserves/academy is just wishful thinking. Читать дальше...

I don't get why Leeds fans would want to see the end of our biggest local derby.

I don't think pictures do it justice. On photographs I think the seats look a mess, today seeing them for real they looked a lot better than I expected.

The game v Cas at home was my worst ever experience. Utter plant life around us. Flares going off, beer flying around, menacing behaviour, abuse, obscenities etc, etc. Mind numbing
Imagine these two together.

During those first 8 games the players all seemed happy and the Mcguire thing seemed to be the catalyst for discontent. Without the Mcguire shenanigans, things could/should have been very different as the team morale would have been fine, which appears to have been the main cause for our poor performances. With all this in mind, I think the club would gave been reluctant... Читать дальше...

Halifax Panthers • Re: Should They Stay Or Should They Go

I think the vast majority of the squad is already signed up for next season so there's not much room to change things too much.

I don't think AOB will be signed. Moore ad Inman are contracted for 2024 and I can't see this crazy situation of having 3 "out and out" hookers carrying on next year so the money would be best used to beef up the forwards, no matter how good a player AOB is.

Bradford Bulls • Featherstone (H)

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Gritty game that we couldn't seem to close out. I felt we were the superior team in the second half but our execution near the Fev line was poor and we put the ball on the floor a number of times in good field position. If the Arundel try is given I feel that we kick on and win that game. If the conversions are taken by Lilley the score is 12-16 with us mounting a charge to win the game. A game of missed opportunities for the Bulls.

The main takeaway is that we competed with the leaders of... Читать дальше...

Hopefully HKR win on Friday and deflate Leeds a bit. If they do, it’s pretty impossible to see how Leeds could make the play offs. They’d need to win the lot and see a couple of HKR, Wire and Salford lose all their games.

The reward for top spot this year is massive and we’ve got our fate in our own hands.

If we play well we will win at Leeds.

Warrington Wolves • Justin Olam

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Couldn't see it mentioned (not specifically anyway) on the recruitment thread, but Burgess made a move for Olam. Seems Olam wants to fight for his place in the NRL though. I guess Tai was the backup plan, unless we are still trying to snare a top centre alongside Tai.

Maybe this was the big target Abe Froman was hinting at?

Apologies if it's already been covered elsewhere.

Hull FC • Season over ?

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Obviously everyone is a little downhearted with our situation this weekend, but all is not lost. If I calculate correctly, we are still in the mix in 2023; IF

IF one of Warrington or rovers (preferably rovers ) lose all three remaining games.
IF Salford win a maximum of one further game (preferably the one against rovers ).
IF Leeds also win a maximum of one further game.
IF Huddersfield win a maximum of two further games (losing only to ourselves).
IF we win all three of our... Читать дальше...

Waqa Blake released by Parramatta Eels. Lacked confidence the last 2 years but is quick and powerful and will be a top centre if he can find confidence again. Worth a punt IMO. Only 28 too.

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Why would we have to pay him? If he's not in the country and not coming back we'd just stop paying him because he isn't able to fulfil his end of the employment contract.

But a foreign company simply could not stop an Australian company employing an Aussie, or force an Aussie to pay them to enable to earn a crust in their home country. That would get laughed out of court as restraint of trade. The NRL would support Macdonald for sure as well in these circumstances. In the meantime no other Aussie/Kiwi would touch us.
