Huddersfield Giants • Re: Leaving players

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Look at the stats on the superleague site and you will find out all you need to know about Russell, neither scores tries nor makes them, his kicking game is decent, buthe falls waaaay short of what is required of a superleague halfback. Whether Watson talks him up because he genuinely thinks he's good, or to get other teams interested in him so we can get shut i'm not sure. Pretty sure the former as he isn't smart enough for the latter. Lovely lad, but he is not a superleague standard half in anybodies estimation. Читать дальше...

Would be nice to see Thewlis get some recognition, but I doubt they'd look beyond a Wigan player this year.

Absolute shame, tb was a cornerstone of this site for many years when I first joined, and a funny bugger to boot.

Thanks for running the predictions again this year Cokey.

I made the play-offs for the first time ever!

PM with my predictions on it's way.

I have a spreadsheet recording how people have done and who made the playoffs since I started running the Prediction Competition (which scarily is way back in 2012) and you actually made the playoffs back in 2013 (but went out in the first round).

We've all had a reason to whinge over the past few years but now is not the time. Best season since 2015?

That's not to say we can't still have reservations about Wood but it seems quite churlish to whinge now.

Contrary to what you'll read on a certain other forum, Wigan did not have a try disallowed - the whistle was blown when the ball was just over the half way line. Just because SOME chose to carry on contrary to the peep does not make it a try that was disallowed.

If he’s going to be offered a full time contract with the team who’ll be bookies favourites for the league, cup & grand final then I think he’ll stay at Wakefield

Suppose it will also depend on the respective game time at each club.

Interesting that centre seems to be the first deal to be potentially announced. In theory this should have been the one furthest away from completion as not planned for where as we have had all year to focus on halves and a prop. Suggests at least one is from Superleague and team still in the competition! Cannot see who is available in the halves in the NRL I think Frawley is as good as it gets.

Tony Braisby - TB - Obituary
It is with great sadness that we have to bring you the news of the passing of RLFANS administrator, reporter, moderator and all-round decent bloke Tony Braisby, known to all as TB, who passed away on the 19th September, at the tender age of 63, after a battle against cancer which finally proved too much.

The now ‘long defunct’ RLFANS Dictionary lists TB as ‘London-based Cas fan moderator closely and directly linked with Mintball.

That scenario would be an absolute disaster, Sinfield isn’t ready for regular first team duty. Myler is too old and lacks pace, I hope Smith has a couple of tried and tested players in his sights. Читать дальше...

Hull FC • Shopping list for 2024

From Aaron Bower

Several Super League clubs have been linked with a move for Brisbane Broncos utility Tristan Sailor in recent weeks. Sailor’s services have been offered to clubs as the domestic season draws to a close, with it looking increasingly likely his future is away from the Broncos in 2024.

However, Thirteen has been told that a move to the top-flight is complicated by a number of issues. Chief among them is the amount of games Sailor has played, with it looking increasingly... Читать дальше...

Whether we are good enough for that is a different matter entirely, but we should be targeting/striving for top six at the very least.

I always believe that a team at the start of a season, any team not just ourselves, should aim to be at least one notch above what they realistically think they can achieve.

Obviously, it would be preposterous for any of us to start claiming that anything short of... Читать дальше...
