Wigan Warriors • Re: Where will we finish?

Certain teams suit certain opposition. We’ve struggled against Leigh 3 times this season yet Wigan have swatted them away with ease. Salford always give us problems yet again Wigan seem to beat Salford easily.

Before Saturday just gone, Leeds seemed to be the team that gave Wigan problems.

We often seem to struggle against Wakefield. Maybe not from next year though.

Leigh is a cinch. I'm confident in drawing quite a few pounds on this one. £100 bet on 10/11 odds returns a total return of £190.90.

A process of elimination really!

I'm not a glory hunter, so wasn't going to support one of the successful sides.
I didn't want a team that played in the same town/city as a football club.
I wouldn't follow a club whose primary colour is red.
I like a club with an old fashioned ground, rather than a soulless new stadium.
I wanted a club with a proper name, rather than one with a made-up animal name suffix. Читать дальше...

Let's say coaching team then.
Clearly we've had some games where the attack looked really sharp so it isn't easy to point out what it us, but Mash is ultimately responsible.

I was really hoping that Leon Hayes would come through next year as he has been scoring a lot of points for Crusaders. Drinkwater has only shown rare glimpses of skill and needs to be far more involved - he rarely takes on the line to make breaks or score tries. We need much more than that.

Ultimately this is my biggest issue.
Losing is not always a sign as you could lose them all by 1 point but not scoring is a real problem and is the responsibility of the coach.
Player injuries of course matter but to not be able to work out one single play that would work for our team is a problem.

Yep. That's where I am. I prefer it because you get the physicality of the game when they are attacking/defending the line. In the olden days I used to follow them round if they were playing to the old scorebard end in the 2nd half. Certainly helped pass the half time break.

Wakefield Trinity • Championship

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

I don’t like to question the wisdom of our Chairman but this is not a good year to be relegated. His ambition that we could reach an A grade is similarly questionable. We will at best be a B along with many others. He doesn’t appear to think that we need to finish top, he wants to pin a lot on the ground but until the West Stand is redeveloped ours is no better than many in the Championship.

I thought Atoni had a very good game against Catalan and got stuck in. I think it was that tackle Infront of the boxes well into the second half. Great cover tackle and smashed the player. That wasn't even the most controversial one in Saints v Bradford games either. The knock on by Withers was. He still claims he didn't touch it. The video ref decision seemed to take about 9 days.

I think Jowitt at hooker isn't something we'd have seen had Segeyaro not got injured. Needs must I guess and he looks like player who'd better suited somewhere else - it reminds me of when we played Robbie Paul at hooker. Neither him or Flanagan are even a medium term option as our dummy half and I think this area is the most important position we need to address in recruitment.

Jowitt did take some wrong options but then Flanagan did as well with that awful kick on the last in the first half. Читать дальше...
