Wigan Warriors • New Kit

Took our 5 year old for his this week. Ended up with 9-10 being the best fit.

Given the crap quality of the ugly kit he actually opted for the training gear. Slightly better sizes in those. Think he’s still 7-8 or something like that.
For a 5 year old

4 or 5 others in the shop at the time grumbling about the quality (feel) of the kits being poor & the sizes being miles out.
Good start from Kappa

Long standing fans may remember Paul spending a brief spell with Broncos. Sadly he's been confirmed as one of the players taking legal action against the RFU, and others, following receipt of a diagnosis of neurological damage.

Best wishes to Paul and his loved ones.

Ran out for us 3 times in 2004.....I believe he'd had a spell at wakey a few years prior, but was always a union player trying to make it at league. Hope he's ok....

Wakefield Trinity • Another long time Trinity fan passed away.

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Just a message for some on here who knew this friend of mine who traveled to BV and away games together
.Glynn Parker. Was a keen amateur footballer and cricketer as a younger man, and has been a Trinity season ticket holder for many years, passed away Wednesday 29th November, he had not been too well most of this year, and only attended three games this past season, but his passing was unexpected.

Too slow for me and isn't particularly strong, think wingers need one of those. He wouldn't have scored that try Martin did against Saints. Looks like a low level SL winger, which is what we are trying to move away from.

Luckily its Tony Smith who picks the team and not you. Or are you professing to know than he does.

To win the championship final may not be necessary for our return to SL but it does give us credibility to do so.

Agreed. But if we don't win it, we are losing valuable points where others are looking to increase theirs.

If we just rely on the stadium we could come unstuck.

We must get back this time or the goodwill with fans will drift away.

Wigan Warriors • Rumours and signings v9

Also, although they bang on about 'play-makers' a lot, the No 10s don't actually (very often) do much play-making at all. Unlike a league 6 or 7.Try assists? More just the kicking game.

That’s absolutely not the case. The 10 in Union is the absolute play maker. He’s like the quarter back in NFL.

He dictates everything that goes on.

If he wants the ball he gets it. If he wants the forwards to take it on he calls it.

10 is without doubt the main playmaker on the field. Читать дальше...

What I always want to know (anyone played both codes?) is, is the union ball really easier to kick? They seem to be able to bang them over from half-way every day of the week, where that would be thought exceptional in league. Likewise from the touch-line. The balls don't look much different, and I gather this difference in shape and weight is marginal,

I've played both codes mate, albeit some years ago, at that time we played with the same type of rugby ball. Читать дальше...

It would be a real shame if Johnson left permanently, I think he's got bags of potential and could be one that we regret in future.
Hopefully, that's the backdrop to the 'one in, one out' situation.
i.e. if Johnson moves on, we can bring in another prop.

In all honesty I don't understand the issue.
Some say they want to thank the previous board for what they did. I've never seen anyone say either are perfect in their decisions but the club is in a better state than they found it.

The very fact Eastern and Vasty both say the worked within the club but find different conclusions shows that a lot of the FACTs posted on here are just opinion based on a snippet of information.

I'm glad they were both involved. I'm glad they've handed... Читать дальше...

Midweek Matters is good listening and his interviews are superb. The Tod Carney one that was uploaded in last month is an outstanding listen.

It’s surprised me just how good an interviewer Graham is and he really is a likeable character. Looks to have a very successful media career ahead of him.

So, we’ve given out 23 numbers and have 4 players brought up from the academy and 2 trialists from Saints. Do you think that’s us? Getting all your signings done early isn’t as exciting as previous seasons . I think there’s room for 2 more.
Where are we short? I think we need another prop. Possibly a 2nd row also

Pantomime season and all that! Just one fact I would like to put straight and don’t get me wrong I can understand how fans presume things but the deal with the developer to get the funding for the East Stand was started way before Carter or even Glover were at the helm FACT!
Many people have contributed to the survival of the club and all should be applauded. I’m not here to dis anyone just don’t like the wrong people getting credit for something others did.
