Leeds Rhinos • 2024 Rule Changes

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

There are also limits on the total minutes players can play during the season. Forwards over 22 years old max of 2000 minutes, backs max 2400. Different for younger players. Probably just about ok at those levels. However, the issue is that, once introduced, limits are here forever and only ever move in one direction.

We can only be fair to players and do our best with the culture and support we give: if they disagree with the position or contract terms etc there’s not much we can do really.

Back on topic does anyone expect more signings now before season start?

Why don't they wear head protection like Bish used to wear. That was used purely for protection after a serious head injury.

Looking forward to seeing the Fev vs Wakey derby this year. Should be a cracker.

We’ll be up there or there abouts. As will Toulouse. Genuinely more exciting than the SL season.

Wakey vs Bradford is the fixture to kickstart it and it should be a brilliant game. We’ll certainly take a lot. With it being first game of the year, under the lights, big team away. Hopefully it’s a sellout and both teams put on a show. With a Bulls win.

Added my thoughts in bold.

We have done especially well to meet the salary cap with this squad!

One thing I do know with the younger player contracts is that they tend to increase YOY.

So O-Neil for example has a new 4 year deal it may go something along the lines of 50, 60, 80, 100k.

You could be right about the Walters 75K talking to a very good friend of mine from Leeds who said Leeds only offered him 40K to stay.

London Broncos • New tackle laws

Coming in to community game straight away, oddly not into pro game until 2025 season.
Lots of players and clubs going to have to work hard to adapt and keep players on the pitch.
Tbf there had to be a change, bit too long coming in my mind but reckon it's going to be painful until players adapt and refs are going to get a lot of stick.

That's an odd one. He'd only just signed for Batley. He's a kicker which is a bonus.

Help me out here though. If Boafo or Macani take a spill who is covering the wing spot? Who has replaced Norman and Whare?

Harvey Makin. Really impressive when I see him a couple of times on loan at Barrow. Similar size to Flower and runs the ball in like his life depends on it.

Had a crack at guessing the salary cap spend across the squad. Might be way off (would welcome any feedback) but if its anywhere close you can see how it's possible to fit in the big hitters of Field, French, Smith and Thompson when utilising the three marquee spots.

Miski 75k - Too high
Keighran 75k
Wardle 100k - Too high
Marshall 100k - Too high
French 150k on marquee
Smith 50k on marquee
Thompson 100k on marquee
