Wakefield Trinity • Stadium and other issues

I agree that IMG have to be impressed but I'm not sure about the "rest of the ground".

Once the area is tidied up at each end of the east stand, I think it will look grand. Yes, the west stand is a bit rough, but the flats look fine, and to some degree are quite iconic. For all the talk of how wonderful Headingly is, the west stand there hasn't changed in decades. The Hull KR ground looks great in parts, but the two stands along the side are looking jaded... It might have been safer if it had been.

The only significant thing that could come from this game is if Sezer cops a ban, which he shouldn’t, there was nothing he could do, have you had work done on the pitch as it was cutting up horribly which is why Coote slipped.

Halifax Panthers • Re: Round 1 Halifax vs Sheffield

Doesnt appear to understand irony - Aston apologising for his team going off in a strop after losing without acknowledging their fans. This from a man who goes into a massive sulk every time his team lose , especially against Halifax - obviously his team take their lead from him.

London Broncos • London Broncos v Batley

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

I'll leave guestimating crowds until the seasons end.....if the club declare a figure for every game, then that's what they've had to pay the hosts for, so I don't see a reason for them to fudge the figures.
25 home games left to get to Highes 5k of paying punters so let's hope that the 50% or so if freebies come back and book the gold lounge for the rest of the season.
As for on the park? As I've said, hoping there are two worse teams than us so we avoid relegation isn't a strategy I'd be going with... Читать дальше...

Mancini would be a great shout. I’d be happy with Coberan too., there’s loads out there who’d be a big upgrade on yank Lampard. Big big decisions to make.

Well I think he will be eating his words after round one I think we will really give the French a game, they have a few out and have lost a couple of their front rowers to Wire etc.

Wouldn’t be surprised if first 3 don’t play first 3 games at least…..

Fortunately we have decent cover in all these positions.

I think we could win this. Or to put it another way I m more confident we will win than that we’ll have our shirts and sponsors ready for the start of the season. What happens on the pitch is infinitely more important of course but the failure on the latter is a spectacular piece of incompetence if it turns out to be true.

Looks like I was wrong on the shirts front although not sure they are on sale to the general public and we didn’t do the usual public facing launch so I’m guessing all last minute. Читать дальше...

Wakefield Trinity • Start of the season 10 days away. Where are IMG?

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

With the new season only 10 days away am I the only one who thought IMG might be doing something to excite fans build interest and increase crowds. All we hear from them is about Grading. Although it would be nice to be in grade A and safe from relegation I can't see how this is going to grow the game. Surely we need publicity, TV adverts, newspaper adverts etc. I know this all costs money but exactly what are we getting out of this 12 year deal other than a rehash of licencing l

Bradford Bulls • York (A) Monday 13th

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Should be interesting as York will want to make up for us beating them last season. Think if Walker is out the Holmes has the fullback spot. It will be interesting to see if Dunning go3s for Flanagan jnr or Roby on the bench. Appo is en route now but I doubt he'll figure soon.

Absolutely, and as you and others have said, the early bird prices are available to everyone.

I can't believe that the idea that someone that was a customer the year before getting a better price than someone that wasn't causes so much confusion/annoyance. It's literally the same in 99.9% of businesses. I can buy a number of things in Tesco for less than someone else can. Читать дальше...
