I don't think there is any club in the NRL that lures young and inexperienced Super League players. Dom Young is probably the exception. Farnworth came through the ranks at Brisbane, so he doesn't count. Everyone else tends to be experienced.

My comment was about the Roosters using youths a lot, as you suggested that they don't lure young and experienced players full stop. The SL bit was an "especially" bit, meaning that the earlier comments about young and inexperienced was a freestanding remark. Читать дальше...

I Came By

A strange little low budget British film made for Netflix, been around for a little while but only just got around to watching it.

It´s predominantly a vehicle for Hugh Bonneville and Kelly Macdonald who just about manage to carry off a slightly under-par script and deliver a nice little thriller, despite the conclusion being signposted quite a way from the end.

Centres around a graffiti artist witnessing something disturbing and how his life and those around him unravel. Читать дальше...

Doncaster RLFC • Dons vs Oldham Sunday 26th February 2023 3pm

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Challenge Cup time this weekend, Oldham had a bye week last week so we've not had chance to have a look at them. On paper they have recruited substantially since last season (many of which did the hop from Rochale), but they seem to be short on numbers in the front row. With that being where a lot of us see we come up short it's far to see it's unlikely to be a game for the big lads

What good will yet another week of training do? He will need to put his big boy pants on and start the campaign at some point, so he may as well do it now.

Leave it another week and he will be up against a full strength Saints team still on a high from the WCC, and out to prove a point to the fans on their return to the Langtree Park. Читать дальше...

Warrington Wolves • Re: Squad for Giants.

If Russell does get the nod over Thewlis I’d be pretty disappointed. Giants will have a field day kicking to his corner either in the air or by turning him with low kicks. Agreed that he could have done better on Olpherts but he was very good in all other aspects including a great finish. Hope he plays.

Leigh Leopards • Re: 8,360

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

I've just being comparing ticket prices for different clubs, and Leigh appear to be significantly more expensive than others for a basic match day ticket.

I'm not sure how the season tickets work at Leigh as i couldn't find an annual price just a monthly one (is that over 8 months?), but they also seem to be far more than every other club in the League.

I guess Derek's lopard skin coats are expensive and he is passing the cost on.

It’s all conjecture, we don’t know if any plans will go forward or if it’s another Allamesque feint. My point is a regular crowd of 15,000 is unobtainable, history tells you that. Quotes of away supporters at the KC from the past are not sustainable now, as I quoted earlier, the best away support apart from Rovers is Cas.

Correct, 12 k is our absolute limit and is it worth the financial strain of a bigger stadium for one or two games that would go beyond that. Читать дальше...

They certainly will, and changing our wingers will make zero difference (unless they are going to grow a foot in the next few days)
The wings were not at fault against Catalans, the mistake was to allow a good in play kicker the time to place his kicks with no pressure, anywhere he liked. it was like a training session.
