The Virtual Terrace • RFL rule changes: Scrum penalty introduced for 2023

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

If anything, I would have thought this might slow the game down if a team elects to go for goal, or am I missing something?

Warrington Wolves • Which player do you expect big things from this season?

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

I’’ll start off…Danny Walker. Playing behind a big pack and rotating with DC I really think this will be a break out year for him. Really hope I haven’t put a hex on him!

Wakefield Trinity • Stadium and other issues

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Attending a function at BV this afternoon, and when I looked out the Rollin shack window looking at the building work, I had to laugh when what appeared to be testing the new underground sprinkler system from various positions around the pitch, one of the sprinklers shot a stream of water straight at one of the builders, poor sod got a right drenching. It was already raining at the time and that’s why I thought they were testing the sprinkler system. I wonder if it’s been connected to the bore hole yet. Читать дальше...

Halifax Panthers • Re: Opening day publicity.

I do not live locally but to hear this is very poor to say the least especially after what was said at the fans forum.

Halifax Panthers • Opening day publicity.

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Excepting social media and our gigantic billboard on Skircoat Road I haven't seen one thing pushing Sunday's opener against Sheffield. We have our 150th season four days away and I can bet half of Halifax is unaware of the game coming up let alone it heralding the start of Halfax RLFC 's milestone anniversary. Fixture lists everywhere, the electronic ad board on Market Street, the mobile A board trailer that Town have used and a proper billboard outside The Shay are just some of the ideas we should be using. London Broncos • Re: Announcements?

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Late but handy signing. As everybody appears fit currently his late arrival shouldn't be an issue. Was an Interchange in the opening World Cup match and starting Second Row (a position of need) v Wales. Don't believe he played in the middle Group match nor Quarter Final. Looking at some of the other Championship line-ups we aren't as many players short as I thought. Problem is I have no idea of the quality of most of those players on the other teams. Calum Gahan was okay last year, but I'm... Читать дальше...

Bradford Bulls • Whitehaven (H)

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

If we're expecting a big crowd on Sunday I hope the club will open a few more turnstiles than they usually do. It's really frustrating to turn up to massive queues and only 2 turnstiles open. That's a great way to p*ss people off before the season has even started.

Doncaster RLFC • Rule changes for 2023

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Rule Changes for 2023, the main ones affecting us are:

Clubs will now be permitted to name a fifth interchange player (an 18th player), to be used only in the event of three players failing an HIA in the same match – the same system that applied in the Rugby League World Cup last autumn. (The number of days a player is not available after failing a HIA as been raised to 12)

If the referee calls time off for a player to receive medical attention, the player will have to leave the field... Читать дальше...

Warrington Wolves • Parking and wearing Rhinos gear

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Hi

Southern based Rhinos fan here. Bringing my wife up for the Leeds game as part of a few days away in Chester and need advice

1. Best way to get there from Chester.
2. How early to avoid major traffic and what's it like getting out after game?
3. Planning on parking maybe 15 mins walk out. Best not to wear any Rhinos gear (I've heard of the odd idiots hassling fans/coaches)

Wakefield Trinity • Re: Murphy on his way then

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

If true it’s a shame, but not unexpected.
Better going there than Saints.
He’s a Huddersfield lad I believe so why would he have any allegiance to Wakefield.
One day perhaps, if we get good enough players we bring along will want to stay but until we become likely to win something Murphy won’t be the first to move on.
Luckily we have plenty of wing cover-will he be preferred over Tafua, Lineham and Kershaw as first choice winger? Time will tell.

Leeds Rhinos • Re: The ONLY LUFC Football Thread

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

he has done a brilliant job of overhauling what was a paper thinknweak squad full of players who were past it or not good enough.
you can see what he is trying to do tactics wise. as you say now is the time to put some wins together. I think we stay up by or 6 or 8 points. everton will be better organised but goal shy. forest a shambles and Bournemouth poor.

Lewis Murphy to the NRL.

Not sure how we can stop the player drain.

If a player wants to go to Aus and the NRL team wants them - they go. It’s that simple.

Too many people who should know better keep saying what a good thing it is, and that includes some high-profile ex-players.

They talk as if the fact it will improve the international team is the only thing that matters, seemingly unaware that without a healthy, fully professional home... Читать дальше...
