Wigan Warriors • WCC

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

I can sit here and say I want them to win but ultimately when the game kicks off I know I won’t. I can’t help that, it’s natural and 99.9% of their fans would feel the same if the shoe was on the other foot.

What I will say is that I want them to do well in the game and push Penrith every inch of the way. I think the whole event, with it being noted in the middle of the pre season trial team lists on Aussie websites is totally disrespectful but that doesn’t surprise me. I’m convinced Saints... Send Nottingham Tiger (or whatever he is called) a pm. He took stick on here for weeks on end but was proved right.

Halifax Panthers • Joe Keyes

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Bit surprised there's been no comment on extension of Keyes contract for another year - while maybe not as eye-catching as a new signing think it's great that we've secured probably our most influential player until end of 2024. It's also a pleasing change that we now have five of our best players in JWH, Jouffret, Keyes, Walmsley and Tibbs tied up for 2 years, in line with remainder of Grix's contract, something I'm sure Grix has had a big say in. This continuity is not something we've had in... Читать дальше...

Rovers tipped to win a trophy, I wonder which journalist it was?

Connor also tipped for MOS by a couple, not bad for ab average player, won't win though, as will miss too many games and the way it's run, means it heavily favours a mid team rather than the top teams.

Such great journalism from him

I don't want to be predictable and choose the same teams that came up and down in 2022. For me, it's Wakefield or Leigh who will go down.

Too much tinkering would be my biggest criticism.

At the start we had mergers proposed then the game chickened out due to a backlash and a first past the post league table with a focus on Paris, Sheffield and London.

Quite quickly Paris and Sheffield fell by the way side and we switched to a playoffs and Grand Final format. I suposse the 00s were relatively stable then we switched the Franchising. The game then got bored of that and went back to promotion and relegation and teams based overseas were the focus. Читать дальше...

Cunningham got a staggering amount of time before he got sacked, so I expect Wello to get the same, although seems like he's be deputising for someone for half a century at Stains and England etc.

The problem is, no one is silly enough to believe that Price is alone in insensitively using a term that's deemed unacceptable, it's obviously something that's been banded about training when referencing a player's core strength belying their true size. I'm sure if we placed microphones in every club and had a dedicated team analysing all that was said, we'd be totally shocked. I'll bet even the most holier-than-thou players make occasional slip-ups in general conversation. Читать дальше...

Agreed. And even after the first few rounds. We all know too well that the emphasis in Super League is how you build during the year. You get now prozws for smashing teams out of the water at the start of the year if you can't maintain it.

True but if we have an iffy start then im sure the usual keyboard coaches on the Leeds social media sites will be lobbing in their two penneth of banal suggestions and new coaches needed after half an hour on Thursday.

Ashurst

Kay
Atoni
Tanginoa
Butler

Hall, Kershaw, Eseh and Murphy to miss out.

Whilst I can see the benefits of a big three quarter line, I thought they looked a bit immobile against Halifax.

Murphy has to start in my opinion.

The Virtual Terrace • Looking back on the SL era

Being a London fan we are out on a limb compared to 95% of the rugby league teams in regards to finances through gate receipts, merchandise etc but looking at this piece, Super League is so far behind the NRL, i do hope that IMG come in and actually make a difference to the game as under the RFL leadership, SuperLeague has not really improved.
I do not know salaries at Super League clubs but I am guessing the younger players are not even earning what the women players will be earning in Australia next season. Читать дальше...

I think this is kind of a way to "create" more leaders if you catch my drift.

Weve seen it during some pumping's that there is no one behind the posts standing in front of players and reading the riot act / being the focal point / geeing them up. Infact it seemed that Hardaker took on a bit of this last year and was great to see. Читать дальше...

Comforting to know that Adam is part of the group involved in discussing and designing the development. At last we have some input into the future and it isn’t all about them.

Like the idea of a smaller separate stadium for us to use but would prefer this to be nearer 15k than 12k as the support is there as proven by ticket sales for Sunday.
