Warrington Wolves • TV games (not Wire)

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Salford are great to watch.
It’s structured yes, but unlike Wigan, really great to watch because of the offloads.
Leigh look exactly like Wire last season.
Leigh and Wakey definitely fighting out the drop.

Wigan Warriors • Salford's Away Kit

Very Rugby Union isn't it? I quite like it though in a sadistic kind of way.

The less said about the Lepers kit the better though.

Excited to have it back.

I’d go

Field
French
King
Wardle
Marshall
Smith
Cust
Cooper
Powell
Byrne
Farrell
KPP
Smithies

Havard
Ellis
Singleton
Isa

Mago, Miski, Shorrocks and O’Neill to miss out.

Unsure who he fancies as starting props and who is his 4th on the bench wouldnt surprise me to see ONeill, Shorrocks or Mago in for Isa.

Agree with your 17 however, I think that Singleton and Isa will start in place of Cooper and KPP. Читать дальше...

Deffo need matongo and Appo to play this one Imo I’d be tempted to put lawford in the halves with Lilley and give Holmes a reprieve

And now Henry Raiwalui slips quietly out of the Friday 21-man squad. Replaced by the previously injured Dalton Grant. Grant is probably not yet fit, but I doubt we will find out either way as he's unlikely to make the match day 17.

There has been two teams in Hull since before the birth of Rugby League. It will be a sad day for the sport if they didn't both exist. The Hull Derby dates back over 120 years.

There was pressure to merge them for the Super League in 1996 and play under the name 'Humberside', but there was too much backlash so Hull FC were rebranded as Hull Sharks for a few years before reverting back to their true name.

The idea that you could just merge the two... Читать дальше...

Why do you keep going on about AVERAGE attendance?

Yeah over the season the average may be around 11k but it’s about having the facilities and size too accommodate a crowd of around 13k to 15k, as per Sunday, and the odd game when this would be the case. That is more important?

Now you could argue why stop at 15k then? But we have to be realistic and for me 15k is about right and a crowd of around 11k in that size stadium wouldn’t look sparse.

Very good point... Читать дальше...

Ticket sales seem to have slowed a bit but still looking on for a superb crowd. Weather looking decent so hopefully that temps a few more over from Cas.

Exactly.

Nobody has mentioned averaging 15k.

It’s about having the ability to accommodate 15k for the big games. Personally I don’t like the idea of playing in a 12k stadium most weeks and then bang a big game comes along and we play in a different stadium. I think it negates our home advantage somewhat and would affect the atmosphere.

Part of the appeal of the Boulevard was that you saw the same faces every week. You became friends and this helped build the atmosphere. Читать дальше...

I feel incredibly sorry for Mark...he's well out of his depth and been put in a position where he is going to be made scapegoat in 4 or 5 games.

He was the cheap option before investors came on board. I dare say they are probably lining someone else up already.

I think the club knew exactly what they were doing when they appointed MD. I agree, the club took the cheap and easy option hoping that Dunning would get the backing of the fans and string some results together at the end of 2022. Читать дальше...

Catalans Dragons • rd1 Wakey (a) - here we go again

Not that RL isn't unused to these games. I remember Barrie McDermott copping a long ban and getting loaned out to Bramley to serve half of it because they had games when Leeds didn't. That stank.

Well there it was to see…
The first and last rule of RL.
“Packs win games”

Our pack wins the day and suddenly, and as if by magic , every single one of these 2022 slated outside backs and halves find their mojo.

These slated backs never lost it, they simply was overwhelmed in exactly the way the 2022 GF runners up were against Wire tonight. When your middle is beat, the backs are hung out to wash.

Vaughan, stint was immense, shades of Morley and Waterhouse.

Smith looked really annoyed at the post match conference, and also a bit bemused (which is more worrying).

I saw his demeanor during the press conference as a good sign. He clearly knows that things need to change quickly and whatever tonights plan was just didn't work.

It's better for him to start looking for solutions now rather than bury his head in the sand and convince himself that it was just bad luck, due to injuries, week 1 jitters or any other excuse. Читать дальше...

Myler is absolutely key to our attack though, partly because our halfbacks aren't the best but in the core skills of fullbacks he's lacking a few. Maybe Hooley can develop into a real alternative.

Mate from what I`ve seen of Hooley and for that matter Macdonald they ain`t going to help our defence much.
