The kick of time is to help Toulouse get back to France. There are less direct flights than there were last season so it to allow them to get home as easily as possible.

Surprised the club agreed to it, I'll be amazed if it doesn't have a negative impact on the attendance.

Wakefield Trinity • Murphy on his way then

Slugger McBatt wrote:

The point I was making was that the Roosters have a good track record of putting young players in the first team and watching them develop at first grade. Yes, Suuali is once in a generation type player, but Sam Walker isn't, and he was made to find his feet in the glare of the spotlight rather than in the feeder clubs. And there a lot of players who are surprisingly young, given that they have been playing for the Roosters starting thirteen for a long time.

There was an incident away to Hull last season, Murphy scored a try from a loose ball after a strip on Gaskell I think, and after a video call, the try was awarded.
Regarding the Catalans game I couldn’t see what happened from sitting in the seats opposite end.

Wasn't that the try that was given because Miller put up a bomb and it hit Gaskell on the head/face before Murphy picked up and scored .?

I think Huddersfield will be a stern test. They've got an established squad and a good coach who proved to be one of the top sides last season, so I think we'll get a better picture on Friday. I'm certain it'll be a close game, though we'll have to address the 2nd row issue (as someone mentioned) as Huddersfield have quality in this position.

I hear too that spaces on coaches are going fast - hopefully a good sign that fans are (understandably) feeling more enthused than last last season. Читать дальше...

Doesn't sound like Sao will be playing Friday but more promising on Savelio & Brown making it. Sounds like Brown wasn't risked against Cas so maybe Smith had an eye on the Leeds game with such a short turnaround.

It's funny how people jump to conclusions. It was even suggested by someone that maybe Smith has already decided he doesn't rate Brown and will ship him out at the end of the year! It turns out he just had a knock. I personally think Brown will thrive under Smith. Читать дальше...

Watched it again on Trin TV and thought that Johnstone lost the ball (deemed a strip by the Ref) and a Catalans player reacted quickest (no surprise there!) and touched it down.

We were shocking between minutes 52 and 64 when the score was stuck on 18-20. Unbelievable number of errors in that short space of time.

Exactly the period that cost us. TJ’s name is on the scoresheet so it seems the ref seemed TJ had scored.

We need to find a way to exploit Wigan. Читать дальше...

Let’s not be getting carried away. We were good but that was the worst Leeds side of my lifetime. Let’s review after 10 games.

We also have to see if we have developed grit and resolve when things are not going our way etc.

Wynne would be a good replacement for Darnel when fit, plenty of pace and he's not getting in at centre anytime soon.

In addition to the perspective that one swallow doesn't make a summer. Whilst Vaughan was mightily impressive, he was playing against a passive Leeds side. We'll see how each of the players are performing later on this year.

Short memories have come to light since last weekend. I would even go as far as saying, I wouldn't be surprised to see Leeds doing well towards the end of the year too. It's round 1!

Wakefield Trinity • RLFANS - Wakefield Trinity Ladies Player Sponsorship

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Not sure if anyone has seen the post on the RWBA Group but we are sponsoring one of the Trinity Ladies team for the season. I've been in contact with the Community Foundation team at Trinity and there are some other players available. I just thought I would put it out to this group to see if anyone would e interested in supporting this as part of the RLFANS Group as well with a view to sponsoring of the players this season.

The cost is only £200, so easily workable for 20 people to contribute £10 each (or more if they are able to). Читать дальше...

Hull FC • Contract Talks & FCs Future

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Good news on the FC future. Pearson confirmed to Hull Live that we are back over 8k pass holders which is the highest since 2020 (when we were all hyped for a new dawn and pandemics only happened in the movies)

Shows what getting a proper coach in can do.

Might be best to have a SR option on the bench if Savelio is fit.

Coming back from his 3rd ACL, might be a tough ask playing the full 80

Massive challenge on Saturday. Early forecast says sleet and rain for the game. Could be a grim afternoon.

from memory your allowed to count only one friendly against a ban. So could be back for game after featherstone.

That was my immediate thought as Mata'utia is well suited to playing second row. However, I don't know how good the young second rows are. If they are good enough get 'em in & we still need another forward on the bench.
The Nicholson injury could take some time so let's hope for the best.
