Des Drummond, Jiffy, Alex Murphy (the best), Brian/John Bevan, Briers & Gleeson & Derek Whitehead.
I reckon you'll never agree a team with this one. Good bit of fun though.

Thought I’d take the opportunity to mentioned players that wouldn’t particularly get into any other team.

Just for you we can have a most #5 exciting team.
Not particularly great players.

Comparing Apples and Oranges
Wigan's pricing like for like with the 3 other clubs I've chosen to compare them with in the past (Saints/Wire/Leeds) is still IMO the best.

There is a point to be made about the take up of a New ST's and Lapsed ST Holders, but it also has to be linked in with conversations about the renewal being the price it is to reward loyalty, and if lapsed... Читать дальше...

As the Nauset said to the Pilgrim Father.

I think refugees have largely given up on trying to achieve change and are simply trying to escape. Sometimes it just isn’t safe to stay.

Yes that is exactly what I thought too DC. I fully endorse selling replica shirts but (a) putting up for ‘pre-sale one whole month before the season kicks off feels sub optimal to me. Did we really ‘plan’ it this way? Читать дальше...

Leigh Leopards • Re: Where do you expect Leigh to finish in the SL table?

Jeez theres going to a lot of Leythers surprised in 2023. Relegation/just staying up? Look at the spine of the team.. Zak, Lockie, Edwin and JA, supplemented with the likes of Amone and Leutele all 6 are top 4 SL players. Yes we have a few wild cards in the squad but im looking forward to see if Lammy can earth a diamond in Wildie, Davis, Gannon etc..

To top all that we are a club with no debt, no government loans, cap money to spend (and will spend it) and now an overseas spot up for grabs. Читать дальше...

Yeah agree. That's why I was disappointed in the owners back end of the summer window, we needed a striker and a left back big time and they didn't deliver. The money was there (net spend £0 and decent offer made to Gakpo). We needed to improve the quality. I still think we lack quality in depth in midfield...

Strictly speaking I'd say assists for all 5 tries. Two from kicks (one a bit lucky from a deflection, the other a beautifully-weighted one off the outside of the boot), two looped passes to his winger, and one a nicely-timed short pass for Kopczak.

6 players from St Esteve have been promoted into the first team squad.

Although despite that, Bernard is still in the market for players.

Going to be a slow start to the season with hopefully a late play off run.

The Virtual Terrace • Journalism in RL

I’d say aside from Aaron Bower, the “big name” rugby league journalists are generally crap. They either plagiarise other peoples work or get their “facts” from these forums. League Express in particular has gone downhill and the likes of SARL do the sport more harm than good with their gobsheet.

Think a lot of our recruitment will depend on retention, looking at that list there's not too many names that jump out, Lewis Murphy is one but you'd imagine he'd have every club in SL looking.

Joe Walsh was another character, who didn't play that often for the Wire, but was notably on the wing when we beat the Aussies at Wilderspool in the 70's.

I was listening to five live on the way to the RLWC final, on the day the head of FIFA gave that loony speech. One of the journalists said that as soon as the football got going everybody would "forget" the controversy, just like in 2018.
He was right.
