Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Regarding the BIG announcement, Is it still going to be announced or has it already been announced and I missed it due it being not very big?

Don't shoot the messenger but if what i was told is correct Hull FC have already signed/ agreed terms with a second row cum centre who Tony Smith has coached very recently. Not likely to prove popular with the fans if true, and it does use up the final quota place but your new coach is apparently very keen on his OOC former player and his versatility does cover two positions he wants to be strengthened.

Bradford Bulls • Dewsbury (A) - Pre-Season

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Decent performance against a team likely to be in the top 2 of L1.

Some pleasing signs, Walkers try, nice to see good back up play. Been a massive issue for me has our support play (or lack of) last couple of years. Nice try from Lawford too which will only give the kid more confidence. Plenty to work on with much tougher tests to come.

Fair play if they do. The woman's game in Aus is at least a decade ahead of the woman's game here both on and off the pitch.

Sims gets a bad rap on here, but when he wasn’t on the field the difference between him and his replacement was astonishing. He may not have been a stream train, but he was a good defender, good communicator and carried the ball up often finding quick play the balls.

Sometimes the beauty is in the detail. If you look at Mikaele/Sita for example, highlight reels are great, skittling players at will, but they caused so many problems for the defenders around them... Читать дальше...

Bradford Bulls • Re: Halfback and Hooker Combinations

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

It's good that we are able to have these discussions as a fanbase. I can't remember the last time we were having selection discussions about our halfbacks.

Here are a few options for the spine of the team:
Option 1
FB: Walker
HB's: Patton & Holmes
HK: Lilley

Option 2
FB: Holmes
HB's: Patton & Lilley
HK: Flanagan Sr/Roby

Option 3
FB: Flanagan Jr
HB's: Holmes & Lawford
HK: Lilley

Jimmy Lowes' Coaching Option

Bradford Bulls • Halfback and Hooker Combinations

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Going into 2023 we seem to have lots of options for hooker and halfback. Must say that I prefer Lilley at dummy half, his passing is decent and he makes yards for fun when he runs at the markers. He's also solid defensively. We've still yet to see George Roby and we of course have Flanagan snr if needed.

In the halves I was impressed with the control that Holmes brought to the side. He's straight into the starting line up IMO. I noticed he's wearing No1. Does that mean he might... Читать дальше...

Bradford Bulls • Huddersfield (H) - Pre-Season

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

After a good first hit out against local rivals Dewbsury, we move on to Super League side Huddersfield Giants. A much harder opposition where I'm hopeful we will see some of the other new members of the 2023 squad.

Leeds Rhinos • Re: The ONLY LUFC Football Thread

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

It`s all guesswork and many teams both in football and in rugby have watched a player and felt he would be a good fit and he turns out to be a poor signing.
The majority of Bielsa signings confirm this unfortunately.
I would prefer we get someone with PL experience especially in a key position.
The trouble is there`s not many options at the price we can afford hence our journey overseas to resolve the problem.
On another point has Harrison signed his contract with us yet or might he still be offloaded? Читать дальше...

I'm pretty sure no one on here can help you with that. You need to report it to the club.

Although I agree about Clubs not having cash to spend or vacant overseas places , we only have one overseas spot vacant ,then it’s a case of where the other players are going to be signed from , hopefully we will have a bit of luck with injuries ,I think a good start is vital to our season .

injuries are key for everybody mate, theres always fall outs, unrest etc there be plenty available throughout 2023

Wow, awful read. I’m surprised James Child stood that toxicity as long as he did. Wonder if any of those officials who’ve left, would return, if and when Ganson is booted. Does his behaviour warrant legal action? Sounds like “Jack the Rimmer” has been complicit.

Wakefield Trinity • Toilets / no water

I realise that there is major construction going on but, the lack of running water in the gents has to be dealt with before the next home game.
Toilets that dont flush and nowhere to wash hands isn't really on !

Can this be sorted a.s.a.p..

Wigan Warriors • Pricing/marketing

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

hugely difficult to grow the game in the current economic climate.

Rugby league is traditionally played in poor working class areas. These areas are suffering the most from the Tory cost of living crisis.
When people are seeing their utility bills go up 4 fold in a couple of years, obviously something has to give.
‘Luxuries’ such as leisure time activities get cut, non-essential subscriptions (ie. Sky tv also hit hard), doubly bad for the game.

We in the UK have the highest utility prices in the world... Читать дальше...

Our instinctive shift is to the left so we got it out to DFJ repeatedly. We didn't move it right often enough to get a feel for Blackmore in my opinion. On DFJ, his willingness to take up the ball is relentless. Perhaps I'm being unkind but I'd sometimes question just how effective that is, but he's got work ethic for sure!
