There's a clear contrast between the ' let's ease into it and avoid injures' approach of Tony Smith's Hull FC and the ultra intense, start early and keep the foot to the floor philosophy of Rovers Wille Peters.

Tony is a nice bloke until you disagree with him but I feel he is a tad out of touch with the the modern ways of Rugby League.

Only time will tell.

ACL and Achilles injuries have become prevalent in the modern game. I think you’ll find... Читать дальше...

The Virtual Terrace • Re: Journalism in RL

There’s no money in it. It’s been a cycle of declining quality and ever less willingness to pay for it. Clubs have there own websites to announce news and interpretation is covered by forums and social media. The BBC and Sky provide adequate match reports. So it’s small niche and we’re conditioned now to expect rolling news and updates.

Being a RL journalist now must be a bit like being one of the last television repair men (or ‘person’, if they survived into modern times).

Toa is English and not overseas. Although he did play for one of the Māori indigenous splinter international teams.

Toa is a New Zealander.

He had an English mother and his father was a New Zealander, and hence that qualified to play for England/UK. and also New Zealand.

Warrington Wolves • Re: Out of season mind occupier #5. Most exciting Wire 17.

Toa should be in this. Memories of Toa may be lessened by his second spell when he had lost the edge of his pace (although was a more solid tackler and didn't get sent off) but peak Toa from 1999-01 was a special centre who had fantastic footwork and great hands.

I would put Hicks above Joel Monaghan. But happy to have both in the best overseas Wire team of my era watching.

1 Brett Hodgson
2 Joel Monaghan
3 Toa Kohe-Love
4 Matt King
5 Chris Hicks
6 Nat Wood
7 Allan Langer
8 Danny Nutley
9 Michael Monaghan
10 Ashton Sims
11 Louis Anderson
12 Trent Waterhouse
13 Sid Domic

14 Brent Grose
15 Darren Burns
16 Paul Rauhihi
17 David Solomona

I wanted a prop on the bench so went for Rauhihi who after... Читать дальше...

Any money the 49ers are putting in will probably be deducted from the sale price of the club. They can only invest if Radz invests.

Wigan Warriors • Re: Pricing/marketing

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

I have an adult ST for the SS. I used the auto renewal option when it was first rolled out. My ST now costs me £165 for 13 matches working out at £12.69/match. When you consider the free admission to academy, reserve and women's matches, discounts on cup/play off/magic tickets/Wigan TV and at the club shop and the possibility of taking advantage of the scrum ticket deal I would say it is very good value.

Totally agree, Roby could have been Man of Steel in any of the last 7 or 8 seasons.

Leigh & Warrington will be fighting for a top 6. Forget the past, this is the real deal this time round.

To some credit he did loan the club money to pay off an unpaid HMRC bill, we didn't seem to have any other takers at that point.
