Bradford Bulls • Transfer talk

Hes an upgrade on Crossley, Walker, Flemming, Evans, Kibula, DDW what more do u want.
Were you expecting Asofa Solomona or Walmsley,?

Of course I'm not, so no need to be daft with the comments. It's only an opinion.

As I said, will play more than DDW but for me he is a player that has never played to his potential. Rarely breaks the line, doesn't make many yards after the first contact and gives a hell of a lot of penalties away.

Barrow looked very solid and were much the better side.

Expected a bit more from Wigan today. Forber looked sharper than O’Neill.

I continue to be unimpressed by Miski. Decent carry but slow for a winger.

Looking forward to next week!

He’s a decent squad player Miski but we shouldn’t be using a quota spot on a decent squad player, especially now we cannot replace Bateman. We can’t just bin players off though, so unless something works itself out over the season... Читать дальше...

Doncaster RLFC • Eagles vs Dons Sunday 29th Jan 2023

Ended up 36-24....so not bad.
I didn't go...did anyone on here?
The happy clappers of Cleggbook seemed to be pleased.
So we have reason to be optimistic it would seem.

Leeds Rhinos • Rhinos Defeat the Bulls In Season Warm Up

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Some good stuff in there after a scrappy first 20 minutes or so where we seemed to push the pass a bit much.

Evaluating the new lads.

Lisone looks like the prop we were missing and his work rate is better than I expected.

Roberts looks a real handful albeit a little raw.

Tindall looked far more direct than last year.

Ruan good ball in hand but defensively a bit naive.

Liked Gibbons involvements. Sinfield also looked far more physically ready for first grade. Читать дальше...

Bradford Bulls • Halfback and Hooker Combinations

Lawford showing again today some good attacking play. In my opinion he is certainly close to being one of the starting halves.

Bradford Bulls • Re: Leeds (A) Pre Season

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

I felt that we managed the early pressure well. I don't think we touched the ball for the first 10-15 mins of the game and did an awful lot of defending right at the start of the game. I felt that the amount of defending we did sapped some of our energy and creativity. When Lawford came on we looked better and played some good attacking rugby near their line. The GF Jr try was chalked off due to a double knock on, which was questionable. The main positive for me is that we didn't buckle and concede 30/40+ points. Читать дальше...

It was a good game. Home advantage played a big part but overall I think the teams were evenly matched. My man of the match was Forber, the lad continues to improve - he could turn out to be our best hooker since Martin Dermott.

Not sure what game you watched. Barrow were the the better side. Their forwards carried them well. The wind seem to play a big part at times in the game. Still happy with the result some good youngsters puting strong performances in. Читать дальше...

London Broncos • Players

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

We seem accidentally to have failed to recruit sufficient numbers for start of season. What we have looks OK but not enough depth. So inevitably late additions will come in. Poor planning, exacting standards or lack of interest in London from the RL community -who knows. However as we must be in the market for players, who of those we have mislaid in recent years would we take back and might realistically be interested.
I can see Jacob Jones not getting much of a look in at Leigh and he would be a good re-acquisition. Читать дальше...

Shauls has been a great player for the club and hopefully he back to his best, a running threat. However, I agree, he just isn’t rounded enough to be a technical fullback so falls behind Hoy.

Davy Litten looks a Gem, I just hope he can fill out a bit. With litten and McIntosh able to be back ups I think the cap is sadly wasted on Shaul. Probably the highest paid back up full back in the league.

Has anyone seen the youngest Hodgson play and how old is he. Читать дальше...

We could play a duck on the wing BT but would rather have a goose as they are at least a bit more aggressive.

Looks like Shaw scored for Villeneuve.

Who knows they may come back, but development wise its important for them to get some game time.

Hopefully their plight will be a lesson to the other young players to not accept blindly what their agent is telling them

Thats the issue, how many centres can we èmploy. Also from what I saw of young Law on boxing day and what folk say about Ollie Pratt. These look two better prospects than Croft and could quickly eclipse him. Good luck to the kid but these things happen and the club moves on

Croft got big raps as a young centre too I recall. He’s some ways ahead of both now as to be expected. Croft will be a good SL centre I have no doubt. I expected he would be Lyne’s replacement but guess it’s not to be now. Читать дальше...

Hull FC • Hull FC Hall of fame

Just cleaning up some statistics posted by Wilf.

Francis was in charge of Hull in 2 spells totaling 15 years. After joining Hull from Warrington in 1949 he took over as coach from Joe Oliver in 1950 until 1963 when Johnny Whiteley succeeded him. He retired from playing in 1955.

After leaving Hull Francis had spells with Leeds ( after 2 unsuccessful Wembley finals with Hull he won with his 3rd attempt there) and a spell coaching North Sydney for a couple of seasons in the ARL.( first British coach in Aus). Читать дальше...
