Good summary Sally.
Appo is often maligned here.
Just imagine if Briers hadn't come back from injury.
Would I have been happy with Appo in the halves?
Damn right I would.
Quite rightly made the dream team.
And I can think of a few halves we've had since then that haven't reached Appos standard.
Ok it was only for that half season (a bit like Sandow) but it was worth watching.

I also think Tyrone Roberts was so-so rather than being abysmal. He suffered from pre-season hype and that youtube montage which had us thinking we were getting a game breaking superstar. But the most positive period of the Steve Price era was when we had Roberts at halfback.

How memories fade. Roberts did not do himself any favours by looking permanently like he did not want to be here due to homesickness.

Sims gets a bad rap on here, but when he wasn’t on the field the difference between him and his replacement was astonishing. He may not have been a stream train, but he was a good defender, good communicator and carried the ball up often finding quick play the balls.

Sometimes the beauty is in the detail. If you look at Mikaele/Sita for example, highlight reels are great, skittling players at will, but they caused so many problems for the defenders around them... Читать дальше...

A lot of hype round Huddersfield and I wouldn't be surprised to see them finish above Wigan to clinch 2nd. Pains me to say but I think Connor for MoS at 20/1 is a bet.

Think they need to reach another final again this season.

They became a bit too structured and predictable last season but Connor will help them their. Flip side is Peats is a big downgrade on Levi and they have a fair few players 32+ who you'd think will be in the starting team.

while the debate of ground share in ongoing, Cas (which I think will never happen anyway, I wouldn't want to share FWIW) & Wakefield AFC (Who play in Red and Blue i think?)

What is the colour of the seats going to be in the new stand? not sure if this has been answered before?

Looking forward to the game , like previously said hopefully come through with no injuries with a small squad, one game in fax had woodburn hall , Knowles , worthington out long term , we can’t afford for a repeat of that . Good to see a local lad in Kai Morgan being given a run out for the two friendlies and looks quality in the highlight reels of Leeds academy. It’ll be interesting to see how Maher , doro and king match up to superleague standard forwards . Also to... Читать дальше...

To be honest, we often call in, prior to the game.

From where we live, it is about half way between home and the ground, so if on foot, a nice stop off.

Also, if we have gone our separate ways on game days, which contrary to what some believe, I have been known to call in after the game, and meet up with the other half of the family, as they come back from their game.

Doncaster RLFC • Re: Dons v York Sunday 15th January 2023 at 3pm

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

The media hype around the signings has died off pretty quick for me we are still lacking depth in the backs and halves - we have a lot of second rowers only takes a couple of injuries and our squad starts to look very thin.

A centre for me is priority signing as to partner Jason we only have Misi or Ferris both at the wrong end of their careers sadly, really supprised we've not picked up a prospect centre for the amateur game or someone who was released at the end of last year to plug the gap. Читать дальше...

Catalans Dragons • Tiers before bedtime?

http://www.catalansdragons.com/articles ... b-gradins/

The Catalans Dragons club has been informed by the Town Hall of Perpignan of the dismantling of the two tiers of the Gilbert Brutus stadium.

In fact, following the annual inspection by the inspection body, the South and North tiers were declared non-compliant.

These no longer meet the requirements of the decree of July 25, 2022 setting the safety rules and technical provisions applicable to this type of structure. Читать дальше...

He was poor at best. I think he got a bit of hype because of his height.

He was average in the junior ranks. His height hindered his athleticism and not a great skill set either.

Don’t see him ever playing at a consistently high level as a league player. Union probably a better option for his skill set and physical gifts. Читать дальше...

Wakefield Trinity • Looking At Football Teams To Move In

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

I think people are missing the point here.

The difference between Wakefield AFC and Ossett Town, is that one already has a ground within the boundaries of the area it represents. The other Wakefield AFC is currently nomadic and is playing in Featherstone and not Wakefield the City, as opposed to the MDC.

Although technically Wakefield AFC can call themselves Wakefield, they are not actually playing within the city boundaries. For their ambitions to work, they must imho move into Wakefield proper. Читать дальше...

Wakefield Trinity • Catalans (H) Pre Match Entertainment

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Hi all,

New here so I'm not sure if this is allowed but I have not long ago taken over the newly refurbished Bridge Inn (formerly The Ruddy Duck) on Bridge St.

As a rugby league supporter of many years I am aware there isn't typically a huge amount to do around Belle Vue before and after games and I would like to help change that. Before the season opener against Catalans we will have a live band performing from 6pm and they will return after the match to play from 9.15pm. I would... Читать дальше...
